Why am I always stuck with such dilemmas? Everything was going so well too. I beat the elite four with what I consider an underdog team, I got the National Pokedex, and then it all hit me. I have the National Pokedex and I'm expected to fill this thing somehow. The difficulty I had with this in Diamond was hard alone but that was back when I had a DS Lite. Now I've got this DSi here and that kind of blows the whole GBA port pokemon out of the window. And the kicker is there's no actual means of getting these pokemon through the GTS because that would require me to have actually recorded them in the Pokedex somehow. Lovely...

Anyways, does anybody have any pointers on helping me out in my situation here?

Since you have 2 DS's, just trade from your Diamond or use your DS lite for GBA pokemon.

There's the problem, I had a DS lite and I had Diamond, that was 2 years ago, wherever they went I can't find them. I just wish the DS Lite was a little cheaper so I could buy a new one to do such a thing. These things were so much easier in the GBA days, I had 2 GBA's, 2 GBA SP's and a GBA micro back then.

Looks like you're going to be doing a lot of Wifi trading then.

I guess so, well any tips on what people are going to be looking for within my limits to get some pretty decent previous generation pokemon? I mean I highly doubt my stockpile of Feebas is going to get me anything extraordinary but still if you or anyone might have an idea on what I should be looking on catching to trade, please let me know.

Most of the time, if a pokemon is breedable and not catchable in a certain game, then it is pretty easy to trade it for another pokemon that is not catchable in a certain game. For example, a Misdreavus can be easily traded for a Shroomish, since they are both breedable.

For legendaries, you will usually need to trade either another legendary or a shiny pokemon. Event legendaries will be a bit more difficult to get, just because people will want more for them then regular catchable legendaries.

The main thing that you need to remember is patience. You're dealing with people now, so you can't always have instant gratification like you sometimes can with the machine.

Very True, sometimes humans can be so difficult.

Well yeah, you have to think about what you're trying to do here though. You're trying to get specific things, and other people are trying to get specific things. Two people have to want and offer the exact things for a consensual trade to happen. Then you need a time when both of you will be available to trade. This gets difficult if someone doesn't have wifi, has a job, or lives in a different time zone.

But yeah. A little patience, and you'll get what you want.

I am so there right now. I also have a dsi and just got the national dex on my platinum. My plan is to borrow my little sister in laws ds lite and port them in that way, granted I can only do 6 at a time per visit and I only visit there about once a month. I actually wish I had just bought a ds lite instead of the dsi.
