Hey people! I'm Phil. I have no idea why I'm called Philman, I just seem to find it rather funky.
I used to be a complete and utter Pokénerd back in the "golden" Poké-mania days of the United States (which would be early 1999 to the end of 2000... making me the perfect age of 10 to 11). After 2000, I didn't care about the Pokémon franchise anymore.
Until I moved to Europe where the Pokémon craze was just beginning! So I hopped onto another Pokémon-interest ride from 2001 to mid-2002!
So, now... being hit by severe nostalgia over the week, and renting a bunch of old Pokémon TV episodes and playing some Pokémon Red Version, I decided to just join this place for the sheer heck of it.
I must warn you, however, I'm in no way a fan of the new Pokémon creatures. That's from [HASHTAG]#252[/HASHTAG] onward. I used to completely pan and protest against the designs of these new guys for a long time until I just fell out of the whole thing... but now I really don't care. I have no idea what the 4th generation Pokémon are called; all I remember is Chimchar... whatever. ;P
It's kind of like the Star Wars original trilogy. You're a big fan of the originals and hate it when it gets tampered with in any shape or form. That's me with Pokémon... the 2nd Gen monsters grew on me due to the second wave of Poké-craze I was swept off with, but before that, I was also a bit skeptical of their designs as well.
I hope we'll get along fine though, I probably won't be posting much, but rest assured I'll be writing and posting drawings, paintings, and sketches a lot about a sub-creation spin-off "alternation" of the Pokémon Universe that I and my friends back in the day had a lot of fun making up, and I hope you'll find it interesting too!
