Really, the majority of the country doesn't agree with you? Color me surprised.
 
Thngs have the potential to get interesting. However, I'm not going to panic just yet. If her replacement is, like her, a moderate conservative, I probably won't have much of an objection.
 
Of course, if the person doesn't agree with you, you'll all have hissyfits.

It sure was nice having sodomy and birth control legal for so long . . . That whole freedom of religion thing was keen, too. I'll miss it all!

Yeah.

They won't force us to practice their religion. Of course, they'll dismantle the protections in the bill of rights to such a degree that there's nothing stopping Texas from becoming another Saudi Arabia or Utah a full-fledged theocracy. But you should be safe in some states. Save the backlash from our foreign policy, and the federal government's ridiculous insistance on enforcing hideously unpopular drug and piracy laws, and the fact that bribing politicians is a protected form of speech, and...

I wholeheartedly agree. Bush may be insane, but there are enough sane Republicans to keep any uber-conservative from being appointed. I'm not saying they won't try, but I doubt they'll succeed. And if they do...there's always revolution. It worked once...it'll work again.
