Old McDonald Had A Paul

= * =

This is my SuBuNaMo first fic that I decided to write. The inspiration came from the test forum when everyone was trolling the Writer Workshop. In my utter boredom, I had created a short one-shot where Paul had an eating disorder. His main food that he ate was a Big Mac. Thus, @Kakuna Matata created the name for PaulxBig Mac as "OldMcDonaldHadAPaul". It's so kawaii that it creates heart attacks, literally. Is this more than anything a crack fic? Yeah, yeah it is. I wanted to have fun with this SuBuNaMo. Please note that I do not take this fanfiction at all that serious as I will any other fanfic unless said otherwise.

Comments are accepted and discussion. Heck, create new trends with Paul and a Big Mac. Lawl. I don't really care. But I'm not being too careful with this fanfiction unlike my other work in the making. So, I hope you do come to have a laugh. I myself enjoyed writing this and will continue to do so (why do I get most my inspiration during midnight? ;3; ).

If you want any character from Pokemon to have a part in this fanfic, just say so. Ash will come in (he has to D: ). Already there is Reggie and Maylene. I do plan to bring in other characters that I shall not mention. Any ways, that's it for right now. Readers, I surely do hope that you enjoy reading this as I enjoyed writing it or maybe more than that. Let the fanfiction operation begin!

Chapter One: Confronting the Lard

"Reggie, you have to speak to him!" Maylene stood there in the middle of his living room. The decor was still the same. Wooden floors were all over with a plain red rug in the middle between the TV, orange sofa, and fire place. Her hands rested on her hips with her lips pressed together. "If you don't do something, this could potentially turn for the worst," she said and walked over to the male who sat on the couch leaned over. A hand was placed on his shoulder.

The dark purple haired male rested his cheek on the palm of his hand. He then tilted his head upward to stare at Maylene. "It isn't that simple Maylene, you think Paul would just listen to me after all these years?" Fact of the matter, his brother could really care less to listen to anything he said. That wasn't something that he could blame Paul for, but he was aware his brother was in trouble.

"You shouldn't give up then!" Maylene's voice rose in a soft, high pitch. A smile she wore soften and she took a seat on the sofa next to Reggie. "His problem doesn't start with you, it starts with him," she said. How Paul acted were his choices. Nothing that he had done would make him to convert to his sudden new lifestyle.

It already started to affect his Pokemon. Torterra could not handle Paul on top of him anymore. The term that Pokemon reflected their trainers was pretty true. Electivire hardly wants to move from his spot to be bothered to do anything. Urasaring came to steal all the food that he could. No one trusted themselves or Urasaring to hold another picnic again. After that phase where Urasaring created a secret stash where he hid picnic food, people were afraid to enjoy the outdoors with a great lunch to complete their time spent outside. Weavile has turned rather lethargic that even if he was poked with a stick, he would hardly budge.

"I think it's time that I had that great brother to brother talk," Reggie said. He was determined that this procedure could work. No longer can Paul always be bothered to move around a lot. The only problem is to eliminate the lock to his door. "I'm just not sure how to get around all the obstacles to do so," he admited and rubbed the back of his head.

Maylene smiled and snaked her arms around Reggie. Her chin rested on his shoulder and she said, "I'm so proud of you Reggie."

"Paul's eating disorder is really taking a toll, huh?" A small chuckle came and the two immediately separated when they heard a door slam shut.

The two stared to each other then up towards the ceiling. The creeks from Paul's steps upstairs were loud and the closer he got, the better they could hear his panting. A grunt followed that and heaving. An awkward silence filled the room and the two young adults scooted away from each other. The silence ended how Reggie thought it would.

"Reggie!" Paul called from the stairs. It was the fourth time it had happened! He was stuck at the top of the stairs. Why did his brother had to have such a narrow stair way?!

"I'll get the butter," Reggie said and shook his head with a sigh.

"Damn it Reggie!" Paul cursed.

"I would use the tools, but the first time I did them...you know," Reggie said. He would not mention what happened the first time they had tried to use tools. Let's just say that tools could easily wound someone.

"Shut up, that was your doing, remember?" Paul replied. His eyebrows furrowed and he just wanted to yell to the world. Could anyone be in a worst than he was right now? Damn it. Where was his frosted Pokemon crackers when he needed them?! Maybe asking his brother to run a trip to buy some fried chicken for his afternoon snack could settle him until dinner.

"Right, sorry," Reggie said as he stepped into the kitchen. He opened the fridge and grabbed the generic brand name butter. Since butter could get expensive and this was the only method that he could revert to, it was finanically wise to buy the generic brand. Although Paul tried to convnce his brother that it didn't work the same as the name brand butter.

He stepped out of the kitchen and headed toward the stairs. When he reached the stairs he walked up them as he pulled the lid off the butter. Reggie glanced to his brother. That scowl he wore had developed a couple wrinkles. Then he practically had a second chin on him. Beads of sweat ran down his forehead. It was common since he would sweat doing whatever he does. His shoulders had plumped a bit and his new zipped-up hoodie alligned with his gut. Paul tried his best to try to squeeze himself as he moved.

"Ugh, can't you move faster?" Paul asked, he gripped his gut as he wiggled the fat around.

Reggie covered his right hand in butter and said, "I have to be careful, you told me that the first time and you make sure I don't forget that." A grin was given to Paul as Reggie squeeze his right hand in between Paul and the wall. It was becoming a ritual process. An awkward one at that. Paul kept his stare on his brother.

How slow does his brother have to be? Reggie slid out his right hand and then started to redo the process for the other side. What caused his brother to become stuck was the end of the railing. There wasn't any alternative way to fix it despite what Paul thinks. He stuck his right hand between the end of the railing and Paul's left side. The crammed space was warm and sweaty. It helped to melt the butter a bit.

"OK, do you need help or do you want to give it a go?" Reggie asked as he slid out his right hand and shook it a bit to regain circulation.

"What do you think?" Paul retorted with an eyeroll.

Paul has also been rather moody recently. He has this "can-do" attitude that has really brought out a new storm. When he attempts to help Paul with his outbreaks, he insist that he can handle his skin problems just fine. Then if there is a screw up, it's because something else went wrong. Guess the time is now or never.

"Paul, I think you and I should talk," Reggie said. Each word he put emphasis to to try and convince Paul to listen for once. That this was a serious and important matter.

"Yeah, and you hold the great brother award," Paul said and freed himself from the top of the stairs. "Now move, I'm starving."

"That's what it's about," Reggie added and walked done. He stared behind him and back up at Paul. "You seem to be hungry a lot."

"Really," Paul bluntly asked. He stared at his brother. Was Reggie completely clueless? Paul knew that eating was part of being a healthy, growing boy. He grabbed the railing and slowly wobbled down the steps. Damn his legs were tired. Yeah, he wanted to sit down, but that just meant that Reggie would get to have that brother to brother talk. "It has dawned on me..." Paul heaved, "That you are completely clueless."

Insults were not out of the ordinary. That's Paul alright, the little brother kid who would take what people say and use it against them as a direct insult. Or he would just insult someone based on their actions. Reggie glanced back over his shoulder to Maylene who sent him a small, wary smile. Yeah, he could do this. Guess this is the time where he has to bring out the big guns.

Reggie turned his attention to Paul once he reached the bottom step. "Listen Paul," Reggie said as he raised his voice, "People are worried about you, I'm worried about you, Maylene's worried about you, so I want you to sit your butt down to hear what I have to say."

"Oh, so now you decide to be brave and go through with things?" Paul said as he glared at his brother. His brother was entering the wrong grounds where Paul stood. He grumbed some unfortunates and wobbled over to the loveseat. When he saw Maylene, he deathen his glare, "I find it sad that you spend all your time prying into my business when you should be training." Maylene shifted to the other side of the couch to let Reggie have her seat that was closest to Paul.

"Your brother's very worried for you Paul," Maylene said and lightened her eyebrows. "You've packed on pounds over a short amount of time and side-effects are showing."

"Oh, so you're saying that I'm fat?" Paul asked and said, "It just so happens that I'm big-boned, did you ever thought that, huh?" No, no she didn't. His arms crossed as he decided to bored himself throughout Reggie's so-called "brother to brother" talk.

Reggie sat down and stared at Paul as he prepared himself. Where would he begin? From when he was defeated by Ash? That's when he started to notice that Paul wasn't himself. Yeah, he had changed quite a bit for the worst as it is. Then at a point he started to seem as if he found his answers. That seemed to be nothing more than a dream. The minute that Paul stepped back home and they had their battle, his emotions fell out of him. He wanted to always be in his room and that was normal for anyone who was a teenager. Reggie respected that his brother wanted to have his own space to himself. Then he started to notice that Paul helped himself to an extra serving. Whenevr he was working with Pokemon or anything, he would come downstairs momentarily to grab whatever he could in the fridge. Alright, that just made him think he should have the puberty talk with his brother. Then his brother didn't speak to him and he figured that Paul felt uncomfortable to talk to his older brother about his body parts.

"Paul," Reggie said, "There's no other way for me to say this, you are fat and I believe you do have an eating disorder."

"Does Maylene think the same thing?" Paul asked and stared to Maylene who nodded.

"We all think that you've been eating due to your emotions," Maylene said as she glimpse for a second at Paul.

"Oh, I get it," Paul said with a sarcastic laugh, "Way to go, siding with your woman Reggie."

Reggie shook his head and said, "Paul, I think this myself, I didn't need Maylene to know what was going on."

"Well, get this through your head," Paul said and kept his serious stare on both Reggie and Maylene, "I'm a growing boy, gee, sorry I can't control everything that happens inside me."

Maylene stood to her feet immediately and pointed down at Paul to say, "Paul, you ate five burgers and an hour later, you ate almost a whole double chocolate fudge german cheese cake!"

"And?" Paul retorted.

"You have a probelm!" Maylene declared and placed a hand over her heart. "Reggie, tell him, tell him everything you told me!"

Paul glanced at Reggie and asked, "What have you been saying?" He deserved to know everything that his brother thought he had the right to say about him behind his back. Of course, his brother would not confront him himself. Unless someone steps up to the plate or was there to make him. It was more of a laugh that Reggie let himself be controlled the way he was by his woman. How glad he is to know how worst his brother's position had gotten since he left his Pokemon Training.

Reggie furrowed his eyebrows and spoke, "Paul, I've seen you start to eat more, yes, you're right, growing boys do eat a lot -"

"Didn't I just say that?" Paul asked.

"Yes," Reggie confirmed, "- I didn't think too much of it, but your eating habits doubled, then tripled, and it has come to my attention that you do have a problem Paul."

"Fine." Paul stared away and said, "So I have a problem."

"Which is completely alright," Reggie stated, "I feel better knowing that I am able to help your troubled mind better than watching this problem destroy you."

"What if I don't want your help?" Paul asked and eyeballed Reggie, "What then?"

"Well..." Reggie chuckled, "...I can call Ash."

"To hell you won't," Paul replied in a rather rashful matter.

"Then help me get to the heart of the matter," Reggie said, "From where it all began."

Maylene let out a deep breath out of relieve and said, "I think I'll leave you two boys to yourself." She dismissed herself from the room with a goodbye. If need be, she would stop by later into the evening. Paul didn't want her around to hear anything that went on in his life. That she would do, but she will find her way to meddle with him.

Reggie nodded to Maylene and when she left, he stared to Paul, "Tell me Paul, what happened the night you returned from Snowpoint City?" Something must have triggered him after he left Lily of the Valley. Last he checked, his brother did enjoy his battle with Ash. Even if the outcome wasn't what he anticipated. Perhaps this could be the real ice-breaker.

Paul stared at Reggie and he was stuck in his position, so he didn't have much of a choice and spoke, "I lost to Brandon."
