Old unique Abilities used on new pokemon/megas?

Signature Abilities like:

Wonder Guard (Ability:
Shedinja bug/ghost is a physical pokemon with speed:40)
could be given to a legendary or new megas in future if there
both stats: Defense and Special Defense falls to zero or 1 point.
(dark/ghost now has a fairy weakness)
Some objections or suggestions?


It will be hard to invent new abilities in future, and If you want more pokemon this would be a good way. If there will be 6 generations more and If you want more.

Wonder Guard is a broken ability that shouldn't be given out freely. Also by reducing whichever Pokemon's Defence and Sp.Def to 1, you're allowing those points to go to Attack, Sp.Atk and Speed instead (see how the reductions + buffs were given to Pokemon like Beedrill, Abomasnow, Sableye etc).

As for signature abilities: I've said a million times already Mega Meganium should have Flower Veil. Not only does it make a lot of sense if Meganium's flower is to grow more when Mega (which seems most likely), but it gives Meganium a super strong ability to make up for its otherwise lacking areas that have held it back. Being immune to stat drops and status would be insanely good for it in its role as a supporter/wall and bulky attacker.
 
Give Wonder Guard to a Electric type, Poison/Dark, Ghost/Dark or Dragon.

But we already have measures to block and counter the over-use.
I know but it would be for maybe a new weak new pokemon or a underused weak one?
Like for Dunsparce+type change.

why not to the right kind of pokemon? bilansed stats + type that gives right balance between resistance and weaknesses?
(dual types: ghost/dragon, ground/flying, dark/psychic, grass/psychic)
Some dual types would deserve a special treatment.
I know what you indicate, but why the worst scenario?
For a Powerfull legandary, or its mega it would fit.
We have also other abilities you know.
Why dont we discuss Abilities that are too similar to others or the ones that are overused on to many pokemon?

Because it's a broken ability. It was specifically created for Shedinja and Shedinja's stats and movepool suck to balance it. It wasn't made for anything else regardless of their stats and typing. And no, Ground/Flying and Dark/Psychic with Wonder Guard would be completely broken. Both only have two weaknesses so if you don't have multiple Pokemon with those moves you'd just automatically lose.

And while entry hazards are big in Smogon's metagame, they are are non-existant in VGC where Game Freak create for. Game Freak probably know well that they shouldn't give Wonder Guard to other Pokemon.

I know that, wanted to see, how You react, but they theoretically could create o other dual typed pokemon that could use this ability and be special oriented?
The ability is not broken, but enough well thougt out and realized.
Its not broken, we have Shedinja and it works somehow.

It's broken because you can't just slap it on anything. Shedinja was fully realised with the ability and they specifically balanced its stats for it. You can't balance a Pokemon that wasn't created for the ability while adding + 100 points for a Mega on top of that.

You can keep saying "it's not broken" all you want but it means nothing. If they were to introduce a Mega with Wonder Guard it would outright make tons of Pokemon unusable (regardless of typing) just because they won't be able to damage it at all. Shedinja has 1 HP, it can't afford to take a single hit. Every other Pokemon isn't in the same boat as Shedinja with that, as they weren't specifically balanced for Wonder Guard. IDK how many times I need to state that.

Wonder Guard doesn't make moves that hit automatically OHKO you know that right?

But a new kind of pokemon can be created. If right outbalanced. Yes I know.
