Users of Bulbagarden may have noticed that a noticeable number of established users have been banned in the past few hours.

While we usually have a policy not to give details on bans, we feel in this case that such a noticeable string of bans deserve some explanations. Out of respect for the involved users' privacy, we won't hand out their name, and simply give a general outline of the situation.

-Two users were banned as a result of trying to involve the staff in a very public ongoing feud between them (both of them had already been infracted once for intersite drama). Specifically, the two of them were reporting trivial and off-site actions by the other to the staff in a clear effort to get their opponent banned. The staff felt this was another attempt to drag Bulbagarden into their intersite drama, and reacted accordingly. Because they had already been infracted for this, the value of the infraction was increased.

-A user was banned for trying to get a moderator to reveal private information concerning another user (with whom they were involved in a feud). The request for information made it clear they knew they had no right to the information, and that the moderator could be punished severely for sharing it. In addition, knowing that they were both involved in a feud, we felt this was another attempt to use Bulbagarden in their feud.

-A user was banned for threatening to blackmail a moderator. Obviously, we have a zero tolerance policy on blackmail.

We hope this clarifies the situation.
