There is always a follow up.

first red and blue, then yellow
first gold and silver, then crystal
first ruby and sapphire, then emerald.

Do you think they'll do the same for Diamond and Pearl?
 
First Fire Red and Leaf Green, then nothing. However, they were special cases. I'm reckoning they will make a third Gen IV game.

Well they were remakes, so technically it wouldn't be logical to make an extra game. I mean they would have to put new pokemon and stuff, and they couldn't just make them up...
 
Yes, there are plans for a 3rd game. I got this info from a pertty relible resource.

A new game, i think they will make 1 but i don't no.....
What more can they do???
I mean we haven't seen the series and there is always some connections
My idea is well....i don't really understand how they make new stuff up
Anybody got basic ideas they could post to give all of us a bit of an idea
Or even if you were the creator of this new game what changes would you make to make it better than diamond and pearl!!!!!

What source?

I'd say that it's likely a third game is on the way, even though it's hard to imagine what they could improve on. We can't know for sure.

I heard from somewhere, can't remember, that the 4th generation games were going to be the last of the pokemon games. So if that's true, if a third game is on the way, it will probably be nothing short of awesome.
 
People think every generation is going to be the last one. Anyway, we don't know if there is going to be a third one, but it is most likely to happen. Improvements? How about a Battle Frontier-esque thing in the Battle Zone? Many would like to see the complexity of the Crystal animations to return. Third games are known for introducing a new aspect that can take us by surprise. If they are working on one, you can almost be certain of that.
 
I can see as follows in the 3rd game:

Platinum, with Arceus as a mascott. Dialga and Palkia are fighting each other, like Groundon and Kyogre was in Emerald. And they're pacified by Arceus, as Groundon and Kyogre were pacified by Rayquaza.
But before it, I could see a remake of Gold/Silver.

DPs have more problems than you can shake a stick at. ignoring it, there are tones of ways to improve the game regardless of it.
 
Pokemon Berlitz, i think. in the manga, the three characters are Diamond, Pearl, and Berlitz, and because the manga characters are named after the games, i'm assuming.....
 
That makes very little sense, as Berlitz is only a name, not a word like diamond and pearl are.
 
They've made
Red, Green and Blue
Gold, Silver and Crystal
Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald
FireRed, LeafGreen and . . . (what? nothing here)
Diamond, Pearl and (something not released yet)
They will probably not release a remake of Yellow, since that's a special edition. It was even called Pikachuu Edition, or Pikachuu Special Edition when it was first released I think. But if we're lucky, maybe they will!

That I can not say, due to the fact I know this person is on many of the Poke forums and I don't want to "out" them.

The last "new" game. Yes, I have heard this as well. I can neither confirm nor deny this. I do know that at present they are have the Pokes planed out for it and when everything is said and done the National PokeDex will hit 1000.

Probably some very minimal changes to the aesthetics and plot; the ability to catch both versions' legendaries; etc.
 
I say they should put in a battle frontier
or something b4 the e4
like you have to win 4 matches
get into top 16
top 8
top 4
top 2
ranked 1
then the four and everytime u battle and get to eg. top 16 somebody different
