Online Super contests/Pokéthlons?

Personally I reckon these could work quite well online and in multiplayer. Have any of the games ever had this feature?

It just seemed to me that no one even thought (or possibly contests are that unpopular?) of this.

Would you participate in these events if they were online? It'd be nice to have an alternative to battling if I wanted to compete online.
 
Wow, that is a good idea. It would definitely make contests more popular.

What do you mean by online? Over wifi? Yeah, be cool. Especially since they are both able to be played over local wireless.

there is no such place. We jsut don't do it as often. And welcome.

I never knew you could do it over local connections, but then again I haven't played Gen 3 in a few years and never touched the competitions in sinnoh.

You can't do normal contests over wireless, but you can with the Gen IV variety. I'll be playing them with friends a lot.
 
It's a brilliant idea, and could work really well. It could pare you up with three friends or one friend and two random people who are also online or all random people- a bit like online matches in games like Call of Duty. Only this is Pokémon... xD

Yeah, exactly. I've yet to see how the Pokéthlon work yet, but I believe they're live action? That's more or less a whole different game to the battling etc. but still retains alot of the pokémon elements (Improiving their statistics through apricots stuff).
 
I like the idea. I mean, you know if you can beat your mates or not, and beating the NPCs is easy. The real challenge in any game is beating people online. So yeah, I'd like this as a feature.

Well the thing with Contests is that the way the Super Contest is currently set up, it has a very formulaic moveset to win.

Yeah, if you thought competitive battling didn't have a lot of variety, contests only need these four moves:

Move 1: Double appeal next turn/ Allows to perform [last/first]
Move 2: Basic Performance/Doubles if performed [last/first]
Move 3: Doubles if performed [last/first]
Move 4: Allows to perform [last/first]

The dance contest is lacking, so it only leaves it up to the dress-up.

But yes, we do need Wifi-contests (though I'd prefer if they'd retooled the concept again), along with Wifi poffin baking (or whatever they replace it with)

Also would be nice if you didn't have to eat like a Snorlax to win said contests, I mean you should do different kinds of things to help enhance a specific condition...

...though that makes a lot of berries obsolete (until they make a new use for them)
 
I'd love to do a contest over WiFi. Maybe the 5th generation will have that option? Or do you think contests are gone for good, replaced by the pokethlons? oO
 
Novel idea! We have Wi-Fi battles and trading but not this? This should be implemented in the games.
 
Online? Well, there could be a leader board but I highly doubt this will ever happen.
