Story
OdPpF1b.jpg

In the year 2022 the nations changed and shifted much like the daily struggle of the skies and earth. On both sides -- The New world order led by the united states and the Global Freedom Force led by Russia had tore at the countries around them some time before one finally declaring war against the other. It is unclear who started the war, but the lands getting publicly ravaged by the Nations stubborn attacks are Canada, China, and Europe in-between. The pressure from the 4 continents collide left Africa with few battle scars, Australia and Antarctica with a 0 immigration policy. Europe countries of Blue and Red seemed to have evacuated all their citizens from the cross fire -- yet the same kindness was not offered to the neutral areas in Europe; France, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria and Portugal. Which remained on their own accord to defend themselves and their land from either side. The same is true for Central America and most of Middle Africa.

The brutal warfare spanned from dog fights with drones to defensive tactical nuclear warfare-- Yet the soldiers fighting were not skimped of their share of battle equipment. A thick hearty armor encased all of the soldiers on both sides. Those who had thrown away their humanity and become androids for the purpose of battle. The suits and modified bodies withstood most treacherous tasks for men of any size, being able to lift heavy weapons with ease and calculate equations close to that of dedicated computers. Technology took a bleak turn in the wrong direction once more. As manufactures produced for the only purpose of hate, spite and greed. Each side was just as unbearable to look at then the other-- both sides had truly given up the hope of their citizens and the beauty of the land that they scarred everyday. The conflict has pushed scientists in Neutral zones to defend their research and hold out on their own terms.

Yet, there were men who wished for the true wonders of nature and the advanced scientific mind of humans and the potential of their creations could be preserved. In Marseilles, France-- A doctor especially guilty of abandoning his country for this purpose was Dr.Jour, The head of Horizon Corporation (of) Intellectual Minds. Both the New World and Freedom Force knew of Dr.Jour and his experts in metaphysical cyber metamorphosis. His close friends knew his passion of the youth and how he could make them smile. His purpose, he believed-- was to open the eyes of the people who fought each other. Dr.Jour's carefree and peaceful banter was an insult to the minds that craved his research and technology. Both forces had readily approached Dr.Jour's estate and attempted to kidnap him for their own uses of cyber space warfare -- both sides had been cursed to find not the doctor, but each other. The warfare that opened over Marseilles was great and terrible- Leaving the Doctors compound and the surrounding area bitter with the rattle of gun fire and the collapsing of buildings.

As the two sides pushed deeper into France, Toulouse, Bordeaux and Montpelier would be captured by the Freedom force where Marseilles, Lyon, Lorraine and the Champagne Ardenne would be on the verge of capture from the New World. France was being eaten alive- And Dr.Jour knew this all to to well. Dr.Jour had planned around this event and escaped to the heart of France, Paris. The Doctor's research had fell onto sacred territory that no other human knew possible. He had engineered an invention to protect France and bring change to stop the war. His passion was so intense-- The man sacrificed himself to jump start the great cataclysm of the invention. His brilliant mind had found a way to render to flesh and bone the characters of warring video games -- Those used to the conflict that plaques the world-- and have them fight to extinguish the ill minds in the world that wish other people to suffer. Within a matter of seconds the ground shook-- The Horizon Headquarters quaking in a belligerent jest to match the struggles on the ground - A loud ring to emulate the deafening of the horrors of those in the air - paired with a flash of bright light and a physical force that would punish the soldiers of both sides outside the borders of France.

Soldiers would be flung from the heart of France towards the out borders, and those at the epicenter were certain dead if their landing was solid. A dim light would breach upwards in a dome around France and protect it from the entrance of either side. All naturally born French citizens would be unfazed, and look up towards the dome in the sky that kept them safe as a cradle. The Technological mind of Dr.Jour had created a barrier that, with cyber space and data, brought to life various characters from Video games inside of the barrier. Soldiers on the outside look inward and squint their eyes, the bright light fading only to reveal that France had remained untouched and reinforced by strange soldiers from another world. Ones that could easily and quickly chop threw the men's bulky armor and ones that flung fire at insane degrees to protect the borders of France. The characters and the french citizens grew to a quick liking to each other -- The french seeing it only fit that the characters be allies as opposed to shunned from France.

Very soon after these events-- More characters had seeped threw-- The population of France grew small amounts from the surrounding nations Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria and Portugal as the force field seemed to welcome and warm these neutral areas as well. France has become the last frontier of Europe's Neutrality front and has also become the city with the most aggression towards because of the other worldly characters from inside. Seemingly, Characters are free to enter and leave the force field as if they were neutrality citizens-- and all the characters seem to appear inside the Horizon Headquarters Top floor Starbucks where Dr.Jour had been in his last moments.

It has been 3 months since these events and there has been a change of events from most of the african neutral areas as well as Australia. It seems Australia has opened their ports for only official french crafts and mobiles to enter. Neutral counties of Middle Africa have risked their resources and greatest minds to get both into france's safe borders. Leaving the Two Sides in drastically heated combat focused in the neutral territories. The only fabric of legacy left behind by Dr.Jour was his research in bulk. The aggression against the Neutral areas of Europe have because of Dr.Jour's ultimatum; With only his assistants left to deal with the characters and any further action. The assistants ultimately decided they need to get a team of characters together, sneak into the other 4 European neutral countries and spark hope within their society to pull together an empire!

Additional Info

So- Let me be the first to welcome you into the fight for the future as a video game character. Wether good, evil or neutral-- Characters are being spawned in from within France's Borders and causing controversy. Where as all of France is the safe zone for most characters as the French citizens have no problem with the characters-- Immigrants from around Europe and Africa have snuck into the heavily monitored Nation of France. Outside the barrier is a terrible war on world conflict levels-- Your Character can embrace conflict and fight out against heavily armed humans for either of the 3 sides or set off on a journey of their own to find out the true nature of their summoning.

-Those who leave France should know this about the areas around them-
Blue-The New World Order Generally dislike the characters due to their spontaneous nature & being a product of the late Dr.Jour. Blue is heavily armed with hardened manufactured solids. Sticking to a quick and strategical end.
Red-The Global Freedom Force tend to embrace characters yet not grant them the same rights as Humans as they were created by man. Red's prefer to make battles an art of war and tend to use robots to combat characters. Modified infantry for others.
Green- Neutral Zones are accepting of the characters and will tend to offer their help the best they can. Yet some Greens can become hostile if instigated- Greens view you as their equal, not their superior. Green's tend to fight with Characters and haven't the brute industrial weapons or electromagnetic knowledge of either side.

We are in France, The Final Frontier. You may wonder outside, you may travel however your character feels. Traveling outside into the grey areas will lead to some complications with your character and the citizens of other nations. Characters are spawned with everything on their person yet nothing that exceeds what they would normally be able to carry. (doom pls). All characters are spawned in the starbucks on the top floor of the horizon headquarters where Dr.Jour had died.

((TL;DR Version:USA and Russia are jerks and started WWWIII. France is the Final Frontier cause science. Science is boy wonder and moves to gather an empire of video game characters to stop the killing. ))

Rules - FAQ

1. One character per person. This is important since we'll be interacting with each other, however there may be exceptions. In fact, if you so wish, you can have a supporting character that is purely for the sake of advancing the RP. For instance, if you are worried that the player you are partnered up with will be inactive, you are free to create another character, but you MUST SUBMIT AN APP.

2. If you address another character, make sure to notify who is speaking by following this format:
Code:
[COLOR="#000000"][b]Location - ((@PlayerName))[/b]
[i]Body[/i][/COLOR]

3. Absolutely no racism, no argumentative drama, and no negativity toward others. These won't be allowed. A little romance is fine, arguments between the characters and not the users is okay, and jokes displayed from characters will be accepted.

4. Do not overpower your character. There are some who are godly, but this is an RP so make it as fair as possible. It doesn't limit your choice; just don't make your character invincible, as every meaningful character must be flawed.

5. Stay with the story. Don't make it turn to your own direction because it sets everyone off. I shall direct the story, but if you feel you have an amazing idea where the story can lead to then please PM me with it.

6. If you wish to discuss the RP or to debate on an action with a few other players, please do it in the OOC board. OOC debates in the IC thread is not recommended, so bring it here.

7. If something doesn't go your way or you feel something is unfair, please notify one of the Game Masters. This includes things like if you wish to change your character or if you want your recent one die off.

8. By contributing to this RP with your application, you agree to be active enough to reply in a timely manner.

9. Your character must originate from a videogame, not a comicbook, movie, or book that received a videogame.

10. Rules are subject to change at any time.

11. Any argument can and will be settled by discussion and not using the RP.

12. Do not powergame. Your characters have limits, as does the patience of other players.

13. Do not mention Iceland or Greenland.
Application Information
Please follow the guidelines for applications below. There should be genuine effort put into your applications before you post them into the thread. Remember, pick a character you will enjoy playing as.

[b]Timezone:[/b] ((To avoid inactivity, and to set up groups, I will need to know this.))

[b]NPC Character of Choice:[/b] ((The character you are going as, can be a male, female, or sentient creature.))

[b]Game of Origin:[/b] ((What game did this character first appear in?))

[b]Power:[/b] ((What can they do or what abilities do they possess?))

[b]Weapons:[/b] ((Do they carry any gadgets, swords, guns, or anything that they use in combat? You will not use them all, so do not think you can.))

[b]Weaknesses:[/b] ((What makes them fragile or causes them to be at a disadvantage?))

[b]Appearance:[/b] ((What do they look like? Be very descriptive. You will also have to post a picture of them ether with a link or post it on your Character Sheet so everyone knows how they look.))

[b]Personality:[/b] ((How are they like? Do they behave in a certain way or like doing particular activities? When you RP as one, you don't have to act just like they would in the game, but don't make them totally different from how they really are. However, you can develop the character!))

[b]Morality:[/b] ((Lawful Good? Chaotic Evil? True Neutral? What kind of person are they?))

[b]Biography:[/b] ((What is their history like? How did they come to be of what they are today? Anything that involves their past or what they do for a living.))

[b]Traumas:[/b] ((Anything they fear most? What causes them to have a flashback and remember a horrible event that chills them?))

[b]Notes:[/b] ((This is where you let us know how you feel about the RP or your Schedule. If you are busy during certain hours or anything that is useful to our RP, put it down. Also, anything else you want us to know about your character you can put in too. It's pretty much whatever you'd like us to know about you or the character.))[/COLOR]

I'd like to reserve Shiranui, if you don't mind.

Name: Lady Macabre

Timezone: Pacific

NPC Character of Choice: Shiranui

Game of Origin: Ōkami

Power: Shiranui has the power of the Thirteen Brush Techniques.

Weapons: Celestial Brush, Truth Mirror

Weaknesses: Darkness, him being a Sun God.

Appearance: Shiranui is a vast white wolf with very pronounced crimson markings and black eyes. It is clear that he is very agile and strong. A mane of white light surrounds Shiranui, making him appear ancient. His tail is dipped in black ink, appearing as a caligraphy brush (and also how he uses the Celestial Brush). The Truth Mirror, one of the most advanced Divine Instruments, floats on his back, giving him a very ethereal look.

Link to Picture; [x]

Personality: Shiranui does not speak, but rather the Poncle Ishaku, his Celestial Envoy, speaks for him. He is benevolent and kind-hearted, helping out anyone in need. Although he is loyal to his friends, Shiranui has a short attention span, and may fall asleep if an explanation is too long, or if he's heard it already. He is very smart, much like his reincarnation Ōkami Amaterasu. Proof ofthis is being able to detect a demon easily, if it is hiding inside another usually peaceful entity.

Morality: Good

Biography: 100 years ago when the ceremony to sacrifice a maiden to Orochi drew near, a white wolf was seen roaming around the village at night. The villagers, thinking the wolf as a familiar of Orochi, named the wolf "Shiranui". Because the villagers thought Shiranui to be a familiar of Orochi, a man named Nagi attempted to challenge it, but the wolf would use its swift movements to escape from him every time.

On the night of the festival, when it was discovered that Nagi's beloved, Nami, was to be sacrificed to Orochi, Nagi disguised himself as Nami to gain access to and slay Orochi. However, his attempts seemed to be in vain because of Orochi's steel-hard hide. During their battle, Nagi was brutally injured. Just before the fatal blow was to be dealt to Nagi, Shiranui arrived and stepped in to battle Orochi.

After hours of fighting, Shiranui received many wounds and was about to lose the battle. When the final blow was about to be struck, Shiranui lifted its head and howled, summoning the moon, which gave Nagi new strength that helped him defeat and seal Orochi. Even though the battle was won, it came at a price. Shiranui had been poisoned by Orochi's deadly claws during the battle and was slowly, but surely, dying. Nagi carried Shiranui back to the village where the wolf quietly passed away. The villagers built a shrine on the resting grounds in honor of Shiranui's brave deeds. Back to present time, Shiranui was reborn, and thus now roams in search of more demons to vanquish in the land of mortals.

Traumas: Shiranui has occasional flashbacks to his battle with Orochi, and becomes very wary of everything around him, falsely believing has been sent into the past once more.

Notes: I am very busy on Mondays, as I have choir practice - but behold, for I will be very active on Fridays and Saturdays. Also, I could've chosen to roleplay Ōkami Amaterasu instead of Shiranui (his reincarnation 100 years after he dies), but I decided to use him instead, since not much is known about him, compared to Ōkami Amaterasu and Ōkamiden Chibiterasu.

NPC Character of Choice: Patchouli Knowledge

Game of Origin: Touhou Project

Power: Patchouli Knowledge is exceptionally gifted in the arcane arts, casting and wielding high level signs and enchantments with ease. She has a particular affinity for elemental magic, often utilizing signs that align within the Wu Xing, her elemental aptitude most apparent within in combat situations.

Weapons:
  • Personal Grimoire: A tome infused with her own magic power, it is used to amplify spells. It is heavily enchanted, granting it immense durability, and preventing anyone else from reading from its pages or benefiting from its ability of amplification. A single amethyst is embedded into the cover of the tome.
  • “Diary”: A heavily bound book that acts as a personal journal used to take notes, keep logs, illustrate sigils as well as to construct runes.
  • Moon Crescent: A yellow curve of shaped metal that takes it place upon her attire. The ordainment acts as a symbol of knowledge and purity.
  • Spell Card Deck: A 'deck' of magically infused cards on which are depicted the required magical incantations to enchant the unique spell engraved upon it.
Weaknesses: Patchouli’s devotion to her study within the library has rendered her mentally strong, but at the cost of her physical strength and endurance. Her vigil within the library has resulted in the rapid deterioration of her physical form and general poor health. She is plagued with physical ailments such as asthma and anemia, causing further damage to her already weakened form. While this has irrefutably weakened her constitution, her innate durability she retains from her powers and race still allows her to receive attacks that would otherwise destroy lesser beings.

Appearance: Patchouli's attire consists almost explicitly of nightwear, the girl’s nightgown worn as everyday attire, her nightcap matching the lavender coloration of her gown, a single crescent moon medallion affixed to her headwear. Affixed to various parts of her attire are a plethora of red and blue ribbons, many of which utilized to control the long violet hair the girl possesses. The girl’s fair complexion and purple eyes do little to heighten the stoic expression that is usually spread across her face, yet none so much so as her diminutive size, the meager witch miniature nigh to the point of frailty, her short height and lithe form comparable to that of a child’s, stealing away the seriousness usually afforded to scholars of her caliber.

Personality: Difficult to read and impossible to interpret, Patchouli is an introvert who’s cold actions and equally frigid demeanor leads the reserved and taciturn witch further into self-imposed isolation. Quiet around others, she retains a somber means of self-expression through which she broods through whatever social interaction she is forced to endure; quick to the point, and even faster to end the engagement, the girl hardly acts beyond what is required to achieve what she so desires – as such, any such social proposition she herself proposes is certainly a means to her end.

Morality: Unaligned - Taking a pick of neither ‘good’ nor ‘evil’, Patchouli simply exists to serve her knowledge hungry whims, any and all attempts to sooth her insatiable hunger made without seeing the moral nor ethical titles associated to her actions. Neither is the witch willing to support the balance of law or chaos, or the lack thereof past the confines of her own domain.

Biography: Patchouli Knowledge, the ‘Enigmatic Source of Magic’, librarian of the Scarlet Devil Mansion and peerless master of the arcane; truly in her life did she accomplish what countless others before her had only dreamt of, her existence as a witch augmented by the very reality around her after having spent the entirety of her life pursuing exactly what she yearned for the most, knowledge and understanding of the unknown. But all things even the gods have an origin, do they not?

Even as a child Patchouli was remarkably intuitive, the young Knowledge spending the early legs of her life perched wherever she could clasp her tender young hands about the bindings of whatever text she could scavenge, such insatiable pursuits the cause of many disciplinary actions taken against the young girl. That however is a story of another life, a life before the girl’s indoctrination into Gensokyo; what is significant of this tale is that the girl, much like many of the others who inevitably coalesced to populate the lands of Gensokyo, had found herself born into a world that would much rather do without her existence, a world that rejected magic and the old belief of witchcraft. So Patchouli fled the world she knew seeking asylum within the then establishing boundaries of Gensokyo, a place that welcome what had been rejected by worlds parallel. Yet the tender young witch would not be alone in her journey for asylum.

Patchouli’s relationship with Remilia Scarlet has long been a source of discrepancy and debate, the bond between the two ''close friends' described as a long held friendship; but for how long this ‘friendship’ has existed or how the two met remains a mystery to the common eye - however what is understood is that neither of these 'friends' could be considered natives to the realm of Gensokyo. Remilia’s appearance alongside her sister’s, Flandre, shrouded in the unknown; matching the sudden and unexplained materialization of the Scarlet Devil Manor at the edge of the land’s renown Misty Lake, the two of which who readily inhabited the estate despite it’s ominous existence. Whilst it is difficult to accurately pinpoint Patchouli’s initial appearance within the realm of Gensokyo due to her overtly reclusive nature, it is stipulated that Patchouli has inhabited the manor for just as long as Remilia; perhaps forging such a relationship with the manor's mistress before fleeing alongside the Scarlet Sisters to Gensokyo. Regardless of the disorienting allure that surrounded Patchouli’s appearance within Gensokyo, the budding witch found herself residing within the halls of the Scarlet Devil Manor, the witch free to practice under the shelter of her mistress and the enchanting realm of Gensokyo.

It was here within the Scarlet Devil Mansion that Patchouli spent the grand majority of her life, dedicated to the endless pursuit of arcane mastery. Yet this pursuit was not made possible without the estate’s illustrious library, promptly dubbed Voile by it's newfound master, Patchouli would make full usage of it’s exhaustive content of arcane texts, their existence paramount to the development and advancement of the witch. It was within the dark recesses of Voile that Patchouli’s mind expanded, worlds unvisited explored, secrets of the occult unraveled, all of this and more revealed to the witch as she immersed herself within the library’s knowledge, the mind of the girl maturing, even as her ageless form resisted the onslaught of time.

A century would pass in such a way, Patchouli’s endless study and exploration of the occult a reliable constant within the chaotic realm of Gensoyko, the witch would grow to surpass previous confines, the expanded mind of the girl sharp enhanced by her studies and empowered by the arcane. Even as her vigil within the confines of Voile had expanded the girl’s mind beyond untold limits a debilitating blow was struck; Patchouli's body withered within the corruptive halls of Voile, the polluted library stealing away at the girl's physical existence just as prolifically as it had added to her mental. Feeble even in comparison to that of a human’s physicality, Patchouli was further weakened by her development of such diseases as anemia and asthma, the girl’s physical constitution robbed from her in exchange for her ill-gotten mastery over the arcane.

Patchouli’s search into the arcane was limitless, the mind of the knowledge hungry girl flourishing within the halls of Voile, whilst her body withered away, neglected in the girl’s fevered search of the unknown. The halls of Voile welcomed it’s familiar master, providing for Patchouli’s every source of knowledge, yet, even this cycle would inevitably come to an end. . .

Plucked from the world of Gensokyo the solitary witch would be thrust into the world of man, a world unfamiliar in a dimension hence unknown to the girl, leaving her with newfound struggles within the war torn Earth inhabited nigh solely by humanity.

Traumas: While Patchouli has never endured a particularly traumatic event she does long to return to her world, breaking down into desperation when her efforts to return are challenged or proven futile.
