Aim To Be A Pokémon Master will be the Opening for SM030, for the 20th anniversary of Pokémon.

So excited to hear the song properly!!

(Shame I have to frontload my disappointment that it will no doubt be accompanied by movie footage only...)

Wait, is it the new opening, or just movie promotion?

This might confirm whether or not the movie is canon to SM, lol. We're getting close to the movie; you'd think they would have used a montage of the original series for the anniversary episode (which didn't even reference anything beyond "I got Pikachu from Professor Oak").

Makoto and Soji are almost inevitable now. The question is if they'll incorporate Brock and Misty to keep the canon wishy-washy.

That's SM art, right?

Will they re-do the first opening animation but with the new characters? Or will they just do a clipshow from the movie?

If Makoto and Soji get the SM art style treatment, which seems to be the case for Ho-Oh, then this can't be dismissed as nothing more than promotion.

Now that I think about it, I'm honestly asking for too much in terms of scenes from episodes or every opening mixed together, it would be great if it still happened but with that new image we got i'm starting to doubt it, it's probably gonna be new animation or scenes from the movie.

Well, the Opening consists of clips from the Sun and Moon series, including upcoming episodes, Alola!!, the Sun and Moon Ash and Pikachu looking at H0-Oh flying across the sky during the day and Marshadow performing Soul-Stealing 7-Star Srike.

Yet another anniversary 'special' which doesn't acknowledge anything before Sun and Moon. Disappointing. I mean, I appreciate that the kids watching the show now aren't the kids that were watching Isshu, Sinnoh, Houen etc. but don't promise us stuff that is supposed to celebrating the show as a whole only to not acknowledge 80% of its history. Right now, the only thing we have connecting S&M to the past was the brief mention of Satoshi's Kentauros.

Is that the actual opening? Did they get lazy or just don't care? It's look like made by 4Kids. It's really disappointing if that's the case.
It's implied that Satoshi will challenge three totem pokemon, and they replaced Salazzle with Alolan Marowak. Also, the first TR-less opening.
