Thats right, Opera Software remove the ads, licencing fees, and registration to compete with Firefox!

What is your thoughts about it?

mrr as a long time opera user, I find it amusing.

This is bascially an act of desperation on Opera's part. I don't object to it. But I didn't even notice that the ads were gone, because the ad system on opera uses baarely two inch tal ads. so thney are out of the way.

Of course, Opera is still going to need proper compatibility with most applications. That's the biggest problem it faces.

If only I could find a proper plugin for firefox that uses Opera's advanced tabbing system and also it's mouse gesture set up. Then I would have the perfect browser.

I feel bad for people that actually bought it back when.

Firefox is a okay browser, but where are the feautres. The base firefox only contain basic browsing features while opera contain all the features in a smaller package.

After installing those extensions, it eat up your memory and when Firefox gets popular, it becomes almost like IE. All the exploits start to show up. All browsers gets these after they become very popular.

Opera will render most of the pages correctly, but not w3c complient ones. If it's not w3c complient, it may not render properly and the page will be messed up. The same will happen to firefox.

Great browser, huh? :-D

w3c uncomplient pages are mostly pages that are not designed for IE... but most of them work...

but have strange quirks when rendering to them. Happens to all non-ie browsers...
