Opera Mini for Nintendo DSi / 3DS petition

O started a petition to have Opera Mini on DSi / 3DS a while ago, I wanted to let you know about it...

The petition is addressed to Opera Software, not GameFreak.

In my opinion, the DSi Browser (which is a DSi version of Opera 9.5) is good enough. And if you add Flash, you'll just be getting more out of memory errors.

I'm not requesting Flash in the petition. I'm requesting tabs support, copy/paste text, Opera Mini servers compression (less memory usage + faster website loading), notes (inside Opera Link as for current version 5), Opera Link (bookmarks folders + synchronization between computers, phones and other devices running Opera) and "save pages for later read" feature. (the current Opera Mini 5 features)

It might be possible with flash on the 3DS. The crappy psp browser has basic flash support, so it might be possible for opera mini on the 3ds to. Not only that, but many cell phones offer flash as well.

It's a nice thought you have, but in actuality petitions are completely and utterly meaningless here. They're only good to prove that a lot of people want X. But just about EVERYONE would want "better software on a console", even if they don't have and have no intention of getting that console.

That's aside from that internet partitions are even more meaningless, because the people who sign are completely anonymous.

I think you are right... But I wanted to try it. I simply wanted to try it, because it's better than nothing.

I'm hoping 3DS will feature a better browser. This petition to Opera Software and various contact I've done with Nintendo through consumer support must have worth it.

I could see the 3DS including a better browser, but personally, it's already so terrible I don't think Nintendo should invest any time or money into improving it. Rather, let them use them to improve other aspects of the handheld.

I don't see what GameFreak has to do with Mother 3 or any of this at all.

The DS/DSi browsers aren't terrible... The web browser is limited because it has to be developed to run on the very limited DS/DSi's hardware.
3DS must have a better hardware and receive a better web browser. It won't be improved: it'd be completely rewritten for runing in the new 3DS specs and to support newer web technologies.
