Game's been out for awhile now, what are your opinions on them?
Rotation Battles
I personally find Rotation Battles to be my favourite, but clearly very few play it if the waiting times are any indication. Somehow I think its because people just believe it's like single battles, but three on the field, but it isn't. To me, it offers much greater variety than triple battles since support moves like Wish, Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard etc. aren't wasting a single turn setting up and switching, and the mere fact that three Pokemon are on the field at once calls for much deeper consideration on what moves to use. You also don't lose boosts, while effectively being able to switch if a counter is brought up. Of course, it becomes more of a guessing game if a counter is already on the field.
There are some things I want to test out, like the effectiveness of Shadow Tag and trapping moves like Fire Spin, like do they prevent rotation?
Of course, people say that with Rotation battles, prediction is thrown out the door, but I've noticed that much less skilled players tend to be just as predictable in this format as they would in Singles.
I can see why Game Freak didn't put it in Battle Subway though. Spend time programming AI? Never.
Triple Battles
Haven't had much experience, so if anyone can tell me if its that much more different from double battles, please say.
Miracle Shooter
Almost always forget its enabled when I battle with friends.
