Game's been out for awhile now, what are your opinions on them?

Rotation Battles
I personally find Rotation Battles to be my favourite, but clearly very few play it if the waiting times are any indication. Somehow I think its because people just believe it's like single battles, but three on the field, but it isn't. To me, it offers much greater variety than triple battles since support moves like Wish, Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard etc. aren't wasting a single turn setting up and switching, and the mere fact that three Pokemon are on the field at once calls for much deeper consideration on what moves to use. You also don't lose boosts, while effectively being able to switch if a counter is brought up. Of course, it becomes more of a guessing game if a counter is already on the field.

There are some things I want to test out, like the effectiveness of Shadow Tag and trapping moves like Fire Spin, like do they prevent rotation?

Of course, people say that with Rotation battles, prediction is thrown out the door, but I've noticed that much less skilled players tend to be just as predictable in this format as they would in Singles.

I can see why Game Freak didn't put it in Battle Subway though. Spend time programming AI? Never.

Triple Battles
Haven't had much experience, so if anyone can tell me if its that much more different from double battles, please say.

Miracle Shooter
Almost always forget its enabled when I battle with friends.

I find them ridiculously complicated. I personally think Triple battles is too much, to send out half your team into battle at once, and just when I was getting the hang of double battling. Rotation battles are the worst and require alot of strategy. Its almost impossible to predict which Pokemon will rotate into battle, making it very hard to choose Pokemon and moves for the battle, I dont like Rotation battles at all. As for Miracle Shooter, Ive never tried it, so dont have an opinion on it.

To start with I didn't like Triple Battles, mainly because of only being able to attack certain Pokemon, but now I've got used to them i possibly enjoy them more than Double Battles!
Because I've got White, I've only ever done one Rotation battle, and I got really confused by it, but I think that's just not being used to them again. If they're in 'grey' and I get used to them, then I might actually enjoy them, but without doing more than one it's hard to tell.
And I've never tried Miracle Shooter.

I don't like triples, they remind me of Anime. They seem like a bit too much, and they aren't strategical.

Rotational battles are fine, they look more like a single battle, but with open cards and free switching.
They can get pretty fun at times and require adaptive approach and strategy.

Never played Miracle shooter.

I like Rotation Battle the most out of the three. Being able to switch Pokémon around and still be able to attack with them on the same turn allows the full use of type matchups and abilities (sending a Poémon with Flash Fire in on a Fire-type attack, and being able to use Fire Blast/Flamethrower straight away). Triple Battles are just ridiculous - Double Battles were nice, and you actually needed strategy to win them, but sending out half your team just seems like too much. The few competitive Triple Battles I've had only focused on one thing, and that was spamming the most powerful moves you can use.

Never played Miracle Shooter, and don't want to. I don't like the look of them.

Triples are poor man's Doubles, basically. I love the latter, so I thought I would do well at Triples as well, but there are just way too many moves to consider, and the battles are generally very hard to follow because you will rarely remember all the details from previous turns. Plus I hate them for being the reason why Explosion and Selfdestruct got nerfed. Yeah.

Rotations are much, much better and show some actual creativity of the dev team. I like all those crazy predictions going around. Very fun to watch and play in my opinion.

Launcher battles are a bit of a mixed bag. It is certainly a wish fulfilment for all the newbies out there who wanted to use items in online battles. On the other hand, sending Max Revive or X Attack x6 can turn entire battle on its head in the span of a single turn, which I don't think is very healthy for the game itself. I'm currently neutral on them.

I really wouldn't say "almost impossible"

What you do is a cost-benefit analysis, which Pokemon do you think can take the best hit from any of the opponent's, while at the same time being able to hit your opponent best. Of course, other factors like how you believe your opponent will react to your set-up. Sure it sounds complicated, but the brain has an amazing ability to do a lot of subconscious calculations fairly quickly. More often then not, its because I start questioning my decision too much that leads to my ultimate downfall.

Rotation battles also allow for a great deal of new strategies that simply aren't viable in the normal singles format. Lowering your opponent's stats really isn't that great in normal singles, but here, its a godsend, especially in WiFi random match up. People annoyed with Stealth Rock will also enjoy this set up. Even with phazing moves, in a 4-on-4, its very limited as when there are no more Pokemon in reserve, its simply a fruitless effort.

Hm...going through all of them...

Rotation Battles
I like these, even though there aren't many in the game and I haven't got wifi. :(. They're fun, because you need a lot of strategy, and a lot of luck. The strategy comes in, because you could switch to have an advantage, or use a support move and switch. However, your opponent could think on the same lines, and then luck comes in. Luck, god-like strategy being able to see into the future or being a timelord, because then you have the classic, I know he'll switch, so I'll switch, but he know's that I'll...then it requires luck, or a hyperbeam. So they can be unpredictable.

Triple Battles
I also like these, about the same as rotation battles. Double battles win the biscuit. I like triple battles, because it requires as much strategy as rotation battles. Although some people consistently use their strongest attack, you can have lots of strategy. You could either put your strongest, or best defending Pokemon in the middle. This is so they can hit everyone, or act as a wall. You can put flying types in the sides as their moves can hit everywhere and there's even choice of moves, like Flame Burst.

Miracle Shooter
Immortality. Both a blessing and a curse, a miracle from both sides of the moral coin. It can be amazing, healing up some pokemon, reviving your strongest, or, for the opposing party, it can be a curse. Just when you've taken down that Hydredgion...

I haven't used the miracle shooter yet, but I like the triple battles because you can train many Pokemon at once and rotation battles are cool because you don't know what Pokemon they will use.

Rotation battles confuse me so much. D8; I'm glad I barely saw any in White.

I love Triple Battles, though! 8D A whole lot of fun! I wish the Battle Subway had a Triple Train!

And Miracle Shooter is very neat! I was always irked that I couldn't use items in a wi-fi match! Now, I can! 8D

I like all of them except for the Miracle Shooter. Triple opens the option to a new type of strategy: team placement. They're gotten very addictive and I like that you can use all of your Pokemon in the battle. Rotation is also very fun to play around with and opens up even more battle options.

I always play Rotation in multiplayer battles. I think it's an excellent way to, battle being able to switch and attack in the same turn.

Triple is probably my least favorite. Yes, I know how to play them, but they're just a tad complicated. Perhaps I need more experience with them.

The Wonder Launcher and items in wireless battles are also nice. I can compare it to the Speed Spells in Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's (requires so many turns/counters to play). This only means you're limited to when you can use them (not spamming Max potions). At the same time a Revive/Hyper Potion/X Special 6 at the right moment can turn a game around.
