On the sea of Sinnoh, a giant cruise liner was headed for Sandgem. It was nearing land, and getting ready to anchor. On the main deck, a girl was standing by the rails and looking at the horizon. Her piecey fringes and medium length, light auburn hair were dancing in the wind. It stood out against her fair skin color, and clear complexion. Her eyes were a blue that was brighter than the ocean itself. She licked her soft pink lips as the wind was causing them to get chapped. She stood at around 5 foot, 4 inches, and averaged at around 120 pounds. Her body was slim, but had some curves to it as well; especially her C-cup breast size. She wore a pink sundress that had straps. The dress length went to slightly above her knees. She wore white flip-flops, and had a Pokéball tied around her neck.

"We're almost here, Calvin," the girl spoke, "Are you excited?" the small Elgyem giggled happily as it tugged at her dress.

"Of course, Momma Abby!" Calvin cooed as he reached his arms up. Abby bent down and picked Calvin up in her arms. He giggled as he hugged her neck.

"This will be an adventure that we won't forget. I can feel it." Abby spoke softly as she saw land getting closer and closer.

Meanwhile, a boy who stood at about 6 feet tall walked over to Abby's side, but kept his distance to her left. He had deep green eyes, blonde hair that went down to his eyes and wore a black hoodie and long, plain jeans. He was skinny and rather muscular, but not too much. He leaned over the rail and looked out toward land, a Surskit skating around by his feet.

"We're almost there, pal," he said to Surskit, disregarding the girl next to him.

Abby noticed a presence next to her so she glanced over to see who or what it was. It was a boy and his Surskit. She then turned to the boy and smiled.

"Your Surskit is really cute," she commented. Calvin frowned in jealousy as he heard what Abby said.

The boy froze up and didn't say anything. He just kept leaning on the rail.

Surskit turned to Abby and smiled in thanks.

"Are you alright?" Abby frowned in concern, "Are you cold?"

Calvin cooed and sat on Abby's head.

The boy glanced at Abby out of the corner of his Forest Green eyes and said in a deep, damaged tone "I'm fine....."

Surskit started skating random figure-eights.

"What's the matter?" Abby frowned, "Oh, I've forgotten my manners. I'm Abagail Harris, but call me Abby. I live in Mossdeep City."

"I'm Calvin!" Calvin spoke, almost in an annoyed tone.

The boy looked up, a genuine look of shock in his eyes. "I'm Jimmy Powell.... from Mossdeep...." he said as he turned slowly toward her.

Surskit waved his antennae at Calvin. "I'm Skip!"

"Really? I didn't know you lived in Mossdeep too," Abby smiled, "Then again, I was homeschooled and didn't get out much, so that's probably why."

"Abby's my momma!" Calvin cooed, "I love her!"

Jimmy looked softened now. He smiled at Abby. "I spent most of my days hanging out in the Shoal Cave. I made quite a few friends there. I've always waited for the day I'd be able to take someone down into its farthest reaches, to see the Snorunt at low tide," he explained whimsically.

Surskit chuckled. "Awesome!"

"I've always wanted to go to Shoal Cave," Abby replied before she frowned a little, "But my parents had forbidden me from going there. They said it was too dangerous. I've always wanted a Spheal of my own."

"Yup! She's the greatest!" Calvin grinned.

Jimmy thought for a bit, before reaching to his belt and taking off a Luxury Ball. He handed it to Abby. "This is Buddy. She'll be a great companion to you, and an even better friend," he said smiling.

Surskit looked at Abby and then back at Calvin. "She's nice!"

"What?" Abby gasped in shock, "But she's your Pokemon. I don't feel right just taking her."

"Yup! She always buys me Tangy Cheese Doritos!" Calvin cheered.

Jimmy stood up and smiled at Abby, staring softly into her eyes. "Just take her," he said, putting the ball in her left hand. He used his own right hand to close hers over the top of ball.

Surskit thought. "Jimmy gets me food. It's good enough for me," he said.

"B-but why?" Abby asked as a soft blush appeared on her cheeks.

Calvin glared at Jimmy before looking at Surskit.

"He better not be trying to make any moves on my momma!" he spoke angrily.

Jimmy chuckled. "Because you definitely deserve her, Abby," he said softly.

Skip sweatdropped. "Why would you care....?" he asked Calvin.

"W-we just met though..." Abby frowned, "I don't feel right about taking her."

"Momma won't love me no more!" Calvin replied.

Jimmy rolled his eyes. "Abby.... just take it."

Surskit laughed. "I don't think you have to worry about that happening...." he sighed.

"Can I at least repay you somehow?" Abby asked, "I feel like a gift like this deserves a gift of equal or greater value."

"Okay..." Calvin grumbled.
