Hi I'm new here and play my gen1 and gen2 games all the time and am currently working on a complete yellow version pokedex which stands at 134/150 pokemon.Do you guys think it would be a good idea for nintendo to clear up this rarely visited area of the pokemon story?

anime =/= games

I don't see why the games should have to pay attention to it because it appeared in the anime when the anume ignores some places in the game.

And what's there to clear up that the anime didn't go into?

No I'm just sayin this area of it is hardly visited. Most of my friends haven't seen any episodes from the Orange Islands.Forgive me I don't really know this area of the story well, all I know is Ash got Lapras, and instead of Brock there was the Pokemon sketcher Tracy.

I'd say the reason why its hardly visited is because it was an anime-exclusive region created just to stall for time while Gold and Silver/the Johto episodes were made. With that said, I'd rather not visit the Orange Isles. There's really not much to gain from them, as they are only part of the anime's canon anyway, and since the games come first....

Yes, there really wouldn't be a very good way to make the Orange Islands into games, anyway. Anyone who has played Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald or The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker could tell you how not fun it is to spend huge amounts of a traditionally land-based adventure at sea, and the Orange Islands are a thing of the long past; there wouldn't be enough demand for their inclusions.

It would actually be a really great game since they dont have battles in gyms and like they do mini gamme type stuff in the orange island gyms so those would be perfect for the DS touch screen.

But we all know how DS minigame compilations turn out. And why would we want a Pokémon game not focused on battles?

You know, an Orange Islands-based game wouldn't have to be all about water routes. Something like the boat at Sevii Islands could be cool, but it could be a Lapras instead of a boat! Then the islands could have extensive land routes with just a few water routes here and there (in the seven Grapefruit Islands, for example).

It doesn't have to be entirely canon-compliant, as far as I'm concerned. The Gym Leaders could require the player to compete in the minigames before they're allowed to challenge them to a Gym battle. Kind of like Rudy did with the moving targets. Then the battles could have special rules, like Rudy's three-on-three same type challenge and the double battle with Luana.

The only challenge is the villain, really. It could easily be an extension of Team Rocket with an extended version of the brainwashing scheme from Pikachu Re-volts.

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone would bother making that kind of game. A fan could make one, I suppose, but it'd be extremely difficult.

Would anyone object to the Orange Islands being included as an additional region in a Gold and Silver remake? However, the only cost is that there isn't a remade Kanto (which had just been remade in FireRed/LeafGreen).

There was a hack game like that called pokemon naranja if they did come out with that half the game would be like mini game

I think the in-game answer to the Orange Islands is the Sevii Islands in FireRed/LeafGreen.

However, I did like the Orange Islands and I think if they did make a game about it, it would have been fairly popular. Someone made a ROM hack called pokemon naranja that is based off of the Orange Islands series. It's VERY popular, and it isn't even that good, full of errors and bad english.

I think it would be too late for them to do this now, though. The Orange Islands aired so long ago...I just don't think there would be much of a point.

Oh, how much would i wish they make Orange Isle a game. Maybe not a main game, but atleast a side game.

No.

Anime-made things never make it into the game.

It's as impossible as the game with Ash as the protagonist (and I'm saying Ash, NOT RED!)

Uh, hello? Pokemon Yellow was based on the anime. You played as ASH, you got Pikachu as your starter pokemon, you ran into Jessie and James all the time...

Technically, it isn't Ash. Since you don't have a brown haired pedophile and a redhead following you around.

In the end, it's just a "Thank you" from Tajiri. Go figure.

I'm sure that the reason that he had no one around him was because back then you didn't have double battles. DUH!

Also if you did have double battles back then I bet you would have had a brock and misty following you. I mean you can see they are making it sort of seem like your friend is actualy there for you as you go into double battles with him/her every once in a while in diamond and pearl.

I think the fact that you get Pikachu as your starter and are followed around by Jessie and James is enough to confirm that yeah, you're supposed to be Ash.

BUt then again, Yellow was made during the Pokemon Kanto series still on air, if they created a game for Orange Isle, they would have to make Ash travel to Orange Isle again inorder to promote it which wouldn't be possible

Why do I get the feeling that some people want an Orange Island game so Tracey becomes a game-canon character? :p

He's the only main character of the anime that isn't from a game.
