Welcome to the ORAS TRainer Travelog! In the traditional BMGf style, this will be a travelog thread for you to document your experiences playing the game, your journey, your party, etc.

Obviously, posts may contain spoilers, so be wary of reading other comments if you're trying to avoid them.

In addition, please keep in mind the following rules:

  • Please post at least two sentences in each post. (Preferably the more the better, but it doesn't need to be an essay - just no one liners.)
  • Please do not post again unless there are three posts since your last post, or twenty-four hours have passed if there are no new posts since your last.
  • Enjoy it! Happy gaming!

Trainer's Log, Inaugural Entry, Stardate 14112.0:

Preparations are nearly complete. Tomorrow at 1000 hours, my journey begins. I've already decided on my starter, and I intend to waste no time importing my Glalie, even though it will be some time before I can use her.

May Arceus guide me.

Trainer's Log, Stardate 14112.1:

Current location: Dewford Town.

Current roster: Grovile, Taillow, Beldum, Ralts, Makuhita, Wingull

I had hoped to make a log entry earlier today--as in, just as I started my journey--but better late than never. Besides, the delay has given me more to report, such as the fact that I have won two badges. Both were quite easy--my Treecko singlehandedly took out both of Roxanne's Pokémon while Ralts and Beldum defeated Brawly's fighters with one hit each. Somehow, I had expected more of a challenge.

While here, I plan to capture a Geodude for my upcoming battle against Wattson. All is well.

I started my adventure, and I'm loving the DexNav. I used to just ignore catching Pokemon, but the Dexnav makes it much more interesting--especially with wild Pokemon potentially getting one of its egg moves.

The Poochyena I caught had Fire Fang, which was great, but then the Zigzagoon had Charm, and so had absolutely no offensive moves.

I started my Alpha Sapphire.

I picked Treecko just as planned I really am loving the music a lot, and I have caught a few Pokemon and am just taking my time enjoying the game. Ive only made it to Rt 104, and am just levelling up Pokemon. My team now is:

Treecko Lv 8
Cascoon Lv 8
Zigzagoon Lv 7
Lotad Lv 9

Going to try to at least get all my team to Lv 10 before going on to Petalburg Woods. I am also not very good with the new sneaking mechanic, though the Dex Nav is very neat.

Battling the Winstrates right now. Also wondering where the Secret Power TM is.

Current team:
Mightyena (Molar) L21
Gyarados L22
Grovyle (Pepper) L27
Golem (Pebbles) L27
Dustox L24
Swellow L23

Trainer's Log, Stardate 14112.2:

Current location: Mauville City.

Current roster: Grovile, Metang, Kirlia, Geodude, Hariyama, Pikachu.

Beating Wattson was just as easy as the previous gyms--Goedude and Makuhita destroyed his Pokémon while taking no damage. Before proceeding, I plan to backtrack to re-explore Granite Cave, and possibly compete in more of the Coolness contests that my Pikachu excels in.

I'm up to Rustboro in OR. I'm doing a bit of level grinding before battling Roxanne. So far, my team consists of Torchic, Seedot, and Taillow.

Just retrieved the Devon Parts. Now on my way to Dewford. Had a brief scare yesterday when an overleveled Surskit with Bug Bite nearly wiped out my team.

Current Roster

1. Treecko, L 14
2. Poochyena, L 12
3. Zigzagoon, L 10
4. Ralts, L 11
5. Wingull, L 15

In Slateport participating in some contests and I have to say...they...are...AMAZING! I've only won one so far and I have no idea how, but I still love them! The special appeals look so awesome!

At Mt. Chimney now facing Shelly. I also evolved my shiny Beldum and apparently special conversations happen when you talk to Steven's dad and the Fossil Maniac when you have it in your party.

Going to be using Pokemon I've never trained or bred before (so cross off most Electric/Ice/Psychic types). Once I get my Combusken evolved to Blaziken I'll probably bench it for a Numel but I'm not sure yet.

Just returned to Mauville with May even though I wanted to keep exploring Fallarbor Town. Now I have to walk all the way back there again @_@

Masquerain (WaterStrider)
Dustox (Mothra)
Pelipper (Mine?)
Linoone (Ziggy)
Breloom (Portabello)
Combusken (Suzaku)

Okay, been at this for two days, but so far so good. Though I'm now waiting for my 3DS battery to recharge.

In Alpha Sapphire, I'm currently in Mauville City. I just caught a Roselia for my team, which is shaping up really well. I also just beat Wally. I like what they did to his personality, as he would've never even suggested being rivals at that stage in the game in the originals. Looking forward to battling him later down the road. Also, I like what they did to May in these games, as she's much more supportive/competitive, and even seems to be interested in getting Gym Badges. That never seemed to be the case back in the original games. These games are really good. Here's my team so far.

Combusken: Male, 26 (Infernox)
Kirlia: Female, 23 (Lora)
Taillow: Male, 21 (Skydiver)
Roselia: Female, 12 (Thorn)

I've also been meaning to catch an Electrike, but I had to wait a bit so I could evolve my Nincada and gain Shedinja. Also, I can't stop using the DexNav. It's just too addicting. I love the fact that you can obtain Pokemon with Egg Moves/Hidden Abilities with it. I've already loaded half of my first storage box with various Pokemon with Egg Moves, as it's just too much fun. And, like always, Amie has proven very useful. Plus I got Pokerus early, so that's been helpful.

In Omega Ruby's case, I've just restarted my data to try something different. Currently I have a Treecko, Poochyena, and the event Beldum, but I may trade them over later on to try other ideas I've recently cooked up.

So, that's the update from me.

Current location: Fallabor Town
Badges: 3
Roster: Marshtomp (lv. 32), Manectric (lv. 28), Sableye (lv. 25), Breloom (lv. 29), Beautifly (lv. 30), Zigzagoon (lv. 19)

I'm committed to using Marshtomp and Breloom for the long haul. I don't know whether or not I'll keep Manectric, Sableye, and Beautifly though. It depends on whether or not I can easily get a Pikachu to replace Manectric and an Absol to replace Sableye. We'll see. I've done some backtracking in Granite Cave, but I'll probably do more before I beat Flannery.

Trainer's Log, Supplemental:

I've completed my exploration of Granite Cave, so I don't foresee returning to Dewford Island anytime soon. Even better, my Pikachu has won the Master Rank of the Coolness Contest. In addition, my Graveler has just won our first Toughness Contest. As far as achieving Master Rank in all five areas, I'm one-fourth of the way.

I've just reached Verdanturf Town, but I don't know how long it will be until I win my next badge. Then there's the trouble of trying to raise eight good Pokémon when I can only carry six. Well, there'll be plenty of battling for everyone.

Current (rotating) roster: Grovile, Metang, Kirlia, Pikachu, Hariyama, Graveler, Wingull, Swellow.

Wellllllllll I just arrived in Petalburg City today, and I'm going to wait until tomorrow to head out to Rustboro.

My Wurmple evolved into a Silcoon (yesssss!!!) and I helped Wally catch his Ralts. Oh, Silcoon was also present for the flock of Beautifly that passed Brenden and I. So, she got a sneak peek into what she will evolve into! ^____^

So far, so good. I'm just loving the music, scenery and nostalgia so much! And the DexNav is just wonderful *___*

Party:
Torchic Level 9
Silcoon Level 7

Badges:0

Still debating whether I should raise the Seedot I found...

So i just got to route 110. I saw some Electrike there when i came to a realization: i've never used an Electrike before; I think i'm gonna add it to my team. So using the sneak method, i found a male, level 13 one with the move Crunch and one star on the potential meter. That's great as it is, but then after catching it and taking it to the Pokemon Center to heal, and i'm told by the nurse that the thing has the Pokerus. Wow, talk about lucky.

I have the awesome plan to turn my in-game team into a competitive battling team later on, so far I have a:

-Treecko, level 13, Modest Nature
-Beldum, level 11, Jolly Nature

I have a minor predicament however, I want Giga Drain on Sceptile, but only Treecko learns it and at level 46, and I'm not sure if it'll be a tutor move or not (if someone could confirm if it is, that'd be great), so I'll be fighting with only a Treecko for much of the game.
