Origin of the Pokémon World

Ok. We touched on this in the older "History" thread, but I think this is a topic that deserves a thread of its own : what IS the pokémon world? How did it come to be as it is, with creatures with elemental powers of the sort pokémon have?

Is it an alternate earth? A long-after-the-apocalypse-earth? A past earth, from a time of legends? (Atlantis?)

What do you all think?
 
I favor the alternate Earth theory. It has similarities to cities and cultures on Earth but the existence of Pokémon and the technology that goes with them is extremely more advanced than what we have on Earth.
 
I don't know. The Ancient Earth idea - that this is some sort of mythical world from a pre-cataclysmic long ago - has lots of potential.
 
That's quite true. However is there really evidence of it being an alternate earth?
 
That WOULD likely be the most reasonable explanation. Nto that there's much evidence for it, but it seems more likely.

How did these pokémon come to be, though?
 
I think somehow this alternate Earth can be millions of years older than our world. Thus, evolution (not pokémon evolution) of the species is of course more advanced. The animals learnt techniques and attacks to help them survive and preserve their species over the years.
 
I stick with the idea that the pokemon world consists of some magic and some science. That's not to say explanaitions can't be sophisticated, though. I've come up with a pretty elaborate explanaition of what pokemon are, etc., but unfortunately, I can't quite put into words what my theory is. The closest I can come up with is that the pokemon world has its own Force and pokemon and the very best pokemon masters are like Jedi Knights, except that they only sense the "Force" on a subconcious level. Well, maybe the pokemon are more aware of it, but since they're all mysterious and spirit-like, we'll never really know.
 
Genetically engineered playground world for children in the future. I think there are a few bits of fanfiction written from that perspective.
 
I remember hearing from an official source once (could had been the Mewtwo Radio Drama CD) that a colony of Mew came to earth and evolved into the Pokemon we know today. Only one survived, though, and it's probably the one that we see in the first and eighth film. That's kind of what I think the 8th movie will focus on - the origin of Pokemon and the mother of all Pokemon, Mew.
 
If you're going to bump a thread, which you should only do if you have a damn good reason (hint--this wasn't), make sure you're not agreeing with a statement that in retrospect makes no sense, given that when the 8th movie came out we learned that the one in it was a different Mew than the first movie.
 
I think that our universe is similar to the distortion world. As in Our universe keeps their universe in line. And if our world is destroyed there's gets destroyed with us. That is why the trainers that stop evil teams always get pokemon in such a weird turn of event, because they are chosen to take out evil teams.
 
Alternate Earth- for me that`s the best explanation. And I don`t think that their planet is older than our-only Pokemon related technology is better than ours..and communications, of course.

Not much is known about the mysterious world of Pokémon
It is said to start with Arceus (thereby he is often refered to as te alias "The original one") he is also said to have created the Pokémon univers
My theory is that he first  created Mew auras for (I don't remember what it did :-P - "Movie number 8") later he used Mew's DBA ti create the dragon trio

Dragon trio:
"Dialga - Time. Palkia - Space. Giratina - Dimensions"
Arceus then created "The Dragon Trio" Dialga that controls time. Palkia that controls space and Giratina that control dimensions (There's a pretty nifty rime about Dialga and Palkia in the 10'th movie something with "Two entities that never should have met")

Lake trio:
Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf (Info comes later)

Kyogre and Groudon:
Makes land and ocean

Legendary birds: 
The legendary birds are shown to affect the weather in the second movie

So it looks to me like Pokémon comes from outer space :p the "Clefairy and the moonstones episode" that I mentionaed are Episode 6

Sit back, relax, and let me work my magic.

So the Pokemon world is pretty mysterious, know? Many theories abound. Many stories in game and outside game. The true origin obscured by time and older stories. This my theory:

In the beginning there was swirling chaos and from it was born an Egg. Arceus hatched from the egg and birthed Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. Dialga the beast of time, Palkia the beast of Space, and Giratina the beast of Chaos. Dialga gave birth to time and Palkia to space, And Giratina was meant to keep the two separate. The planets were formed by the big bang in the newly created universe, perhaps the origin of this bang was the clash of time and space itself. At this point Dialga and Palkia each receded into their own dimension, Giratina without a purpose was phased out as well. From Dialgaia came the time sprites: Celebi, protectors of time. And from Palkia came the space sprites: Jirachi, protectors of space. Then from Arceus again came three Pokemon: Ixie, Mesprit, and Azelf. Who all three created Spirit. From spirit there was born Mew. Mew were the first true life forms, the sprites of spirit and protectors of life. It was at this time that Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre were born of the earth. From Rayquaza came the sky, from Groudon came the land, and from Kyogre came the oceans. A war between Groudon and Kyogre was only broken up when Rayquaza intervened. In their tireless battle to create the land and sea Groudon and Kyogre had grown wary, and fell into deep slumbers. Rayquaza then sealed them away with the red and Blue orbs. Rayqaza then began patrolling the sky's unable to sleep being too busy guarding the Blue and Red Orbs. The king awakens, being born of the earth made by Kyogre and Groudon, Regigigas begins moving the continents as he sees fit. Creating the three Golems as his sprites to help him and protect the land. From his sprites Regigigas takes his power. Arceus creates the 3 orbs and falls into a never ending sleep, entrusting them to the earth. The Mew race so overjoyed with life begin to create more. From the first Mews there is born the first of all prehistoric animals. These ancient creatures were born and in time grew. As they grew their strife and disregard for life killed most Mews, those left went into hiding. After enough time these animals changed and grew more, evolving. Mutating. They became different types of creatures. From these creatures were born our savage animal ancestors. At this time humans and Pokemon were equals, eating at the same table and marrying into one another. There were also lesser beasts, animals of no name, they helped to feed our families. And we respected them. But as time went on we began living separate lives with Pokemon. We still helped one another when available, but Pokemon were looked down upon. Viewed as beasts. Our kind came to discover weapons, and in our ignorance used them on our once trusting family. We began killing and eating those we once shared tables with, with no respect he killed and did not use all the Pokemon had given him in death. The Mews wept. Man grew hungry for power. But man still feared the power of he who pulled the continents, he who made mans world, so man set out to seal the King into a deep sleep. Man used the Golems of the King against him, sealing him in his throne, and his court room in an icy temple atop a mountain. Then sealing the Golems in smaller temples around his. Fearing his savagery and power. Pokemon became scarce and hid from Man. Man searched long and hard until he found a single Pokemon. He asked, "Why do you hide?" To which the mournful Pokemon replied, "If you bear your sword to bring harm upon us, with claws and fangs, we will exact a toll. From your kind we will take our toll, for it must be done. Done it must be to guard ourselves and for it, I apologize." Man, seeing his error looked to the skies and shouted his dismay, "In having found the sword, I have lost so much. Gorged with power, I grew blind to Pokémon being alive. I will never fall savage again. This sword I denounce and forsake. I plead for forgiveness, for I was but a fool." Building a tower to show his sorrow he wept for those who no longer loved him. Man did hurl his sword into the ground, breaking it in two pieces. seeing this the Pokemon felt they still could not trust man and left the Earth. Rayquaza then came to settle in the tower built from man's sorrow for the Pokemon. Rayquaza thanked man, for with this tower he could finally rest. He gave man the blue and Red spheres and entrusted him to keep them safe until they were needed again. Man obeyed. His tower had proven that there were still Pokemon in the world, he dried his tears. The deities of old, those who had made the earth and moved the continents were left. But they feared they would hold a grudge to man. Some men sought seclusion for what they had done, sealing themselves away in guilt. But some men began telling their children the stories of the old deities. Generation to generation. Inspiring the stories of terrific beasts, of dragons and monsters. And the animals that lived alongside man and Pokemon in ancient times, still existed. They were respected more now, and took the place of Pokemon. The orbs of Arceus and Rayquaza were guarded by slowly began to fade into obscurity. Meanwhile amongst the stars Pokemon changed as well, many lives went by amongst the stars before the Pokemon came back to man with open arms. Again ready to trust him. Pokemon replaced the animals of ancient times, and took their place yet again. Man seeing this wept and cried that his family had returned.

Basically, after the next few centuries civilizations rose and fell. Creating a large amount of ruins and questionable history. Towers were built, Pokemon respected. Man kind began creating more advanced technology. Eventually, we began living with Pokemon again, however we still saw them as nothing but beasts. Some men were good and kept them safe and respected, some were bad and used them to death or for evil purposes. A few wars broke out and we wound up forgetting the whole story going off of only small legends people hardly remembered. That pretty much brings us up to speed with the games where we have a species of animal that's replaced all animals, ruins abound, cars and boats, AND super tech like pokeballs.


So that's my theory. Hope you liked it, feel free to pick it apart.
