Anyone aware of a DVD release of the first few series of the Pokemon anime? Looking online I couldn't seem to find one. I for one would love a nice box set of the first season, but it doesn't seem to exist. If it really doesn't, should a petition be started for the release of one, or at least for the shows to be available to download online? There'd definitely be a market for it.

Thoughts?

There is the first series available on DVD, but its only NTSC region 1, no region 2 I can see which sucks! I wanted one for a long while now

Really? I couldn't find a Kanto region DVD box set anywhere on the interwebz, not even from the US. Got a link?

Ok, searching for 'Indigo League' rather than Kanto or original series yielded results, but as you say, they're only Region 1, not PAL.

What about those wallets that are the Australian box set. They are in PAL format.

You can order them from Australian sites and stuff.

The DVD wallet sets are an option but you will need an all region DVD player or a modded DVD-ROM drive on a computer to watch them. Australia is on region 4 as is New Zealand which is different than the UK and Japan so this will be one thing to overcome in order to watch those DVDs.
