Just that. If anyone has seen the Anime outside of English, which one? Did you like it more? For those living in a non-English speaking country, which version is better, yours or ours?

Keep in mind this thread regards the DUBS only. The Japanese version is not to be mentioned.

I've seen some German episodes and found the dub rather weak compared to English's. Same with Italisn's, even though it has better theme songs

Well, I've been watching the German dub for like forever and I like it pretty much. They just finished airing season 12 so it's only the matter of time when they'll air the next season. Also, the majority of latest Pokemon movies I have seen were on German. (by majority, I mean from 8th and onward)

There is also Croatian dub, but I haven't seen those episodes in a long time. They've finished airing Pokemon with 6th season. :)

I've seen Finnish and Chinese dubs, and Koren but I don't remember much about it. Chinese was very close to the Japanese version of course, so I liked it. I like the script in the Finnish dub, it's quite cute.

I've seen the English and, believe it or not, Hindi Dub. The hindi dub was interesting to say the least. Not a lot was change really. The names were the same as the english ones and english was spoken here and there since most who would watch it would be quite familar with english anyway.

For those who don't know, Croation is in the "Slavic" category.

I started with the Hindi dub, but when it was replaced by the english dub i realized how bad it was.
Misty's hindi VA use to call staryu and goldeen staru and goldy.

Our old dub had weird pronunciations too. Hitmonchan was "Hitmonkhaan", for example. XD The new dub has weird stuff like "Pokimon" and "Phikachu", which is weird because those Japanese names should be pronounced in Finnish the same way as they are in Japanese...

And I was thinking about this topic...<br>
Anyway, (besides Japanese) I've seen most of episodes in the show in English and Chinese (Mandarin). I also saw several scenes in other language such as Cantonese, Korean, and Filipino. The English dub was fine, except for having too many edits. On the other hand, the Chinese dub is quite faithful. The theme songs and background music are kept intact. Only problem is the dubbing is a bit slow (currently behind by around 80 ep), except for the Zoroark movie which is to premiere just 20 days after the Japanese release.

I saw half a few episodes of the Canadian French dub... the only comment on its quality is that I learned to speak English fast...

I watched a few episodes in the Latin-spanish Dub, and I must say, it's quite good.

The Iberian spanish dub is good too, but...the accent is too much for me XD. It's not bad at all.

I've seen the french versions a few times. Never again :p

If I had to put a judge on anything, I would say that in the olden days, before PUSA and TPCI, English dub beats most (that I've seen). After the change, however, I think that my fave is the spanish dub XD (haha, don't laugh). I'm not too sure how closely they keep to the script though, since I don't understand spanish in the first place *is shot*

As a German I grew up with the German dub until AG started and I switched ( thanks to the internet) to the Japanese original.

The German dub started of as brilliant in my eyes. Everybody was spot on and the VAs actually acted like they cared. It was clearly much better than the US dub ( which I always disliked).
When Johto started the quality of the German dub decreased a lot.
LOTS of translation errors or simply faulty spoken lines, the same 5 people doing the voiced for the newer pokemon and changed voice actors for minor characters throughout the saga.
Ashs VA moved to the US to study acting and we got a new one who sucked ( after the new one died a few years ago we got the original one back...).

The errors and lackluster VAs bacame worse and worse after a while and now I can't stand the German version anymore. Nobody of the VAs besides Misty ( who is RARELY seen),Rocko (Brock) and James gives a damn it seems...The Pokémon sound like robotic-machines and starting with last season they actually used the voices of the english dub for the Pokémon in some scenes but not all of them. Truly professional...-.-

I have at least seen a few shorts scenes of every EU-based dub of Pokémon and almost all of them sound pretty good. The voices fit the characters and the acting seems to be good. Of course I can't judge the quality of those dubs due to not being able to understand what the characters say, but it seems quite good.

The Chinese(Mandarin) dub - God, the names they give to the Pokemon are HILARIOUS.

Well, I live in Finland so I usually watch Pokémon in the Finnish dub. But because several episodes were skipped here I've watched all those episodes in English. I liked the 4Kids English dub but I don't watch Pokémon in English that much nowadays.
I have seen some clips of German, Spanish, Swedish and Chinese versions and they all are kinda cool. Still prefer Finnish version

I still like original Japanese version most, because of many reasons. It's uncut and voice actors and musics are great. I don't like the backgroundmusics John Loeffler has composed >.<

So, I watch Pokémon in two langauages, in Japanese and Finnish.

Hold on, let's see... I got my first exposure to Pokemon through the Swedish dub. Then I moved back to Israel and watched the Hebrew dub, which accompanied me throughout my teens (not so much these days). I watched a few episodes of the Arabic one, that was rather terrible. Nowhere near as bad as the Digimon one, thankfully, but still terrible.

I used to really, really love the Hebrew dub. I still like the voice actors a ton, they're real pros, but the translation has become abysmal in recent years, especially since the DP saga began. I think Pip's six translated episodes are the only ones that were really any good translation-wise.

I have a crush on James' first Israeli voice actor's voice. And a bigger celerity crush on his second voice actor as a person. This isn't helping.

The question is a bit vague, mixing "which version do you LIKE better" and "which IS better".

I got introduced to the anime via the Norwegian dub, and for the first two seasons that's more or less all I had to go on. Since Norway skipped season 3-5, and Japanese episodes were hard to get a hold of at the time, I managed to make my way through those 3 seasons by watching the English dub, while eventually starting to follow the series in Japanese when AG started.

I obviously follow the Japanese original weekly nowadays, but still watch the Norwegian dub somewhat on and off if it's available to me, for curiosity and nostalgia's sake. So, do I like it better than the English dub? Well, yeah, I'd definitely rather watch it ofter that dub - the English dub isn't the original, and doesn't really have any qualities that would make me go out of the way to watch it. Other than the Cartoon Network airing of the 11th movie, which I mostly watched because my roommate wanted to, I haven't really seen much of it since late Johto, and don't see much of a reason to do so, either.
But does that mean I think the Norwegian dub IS better? The script is translated from the English dub script, and naturally ends up somewhat clunky because of that (not to mention Sun Studio's annoying love for tossing random English around), though it did have the advantage of hiring a somewhat more experienced voice cast from the get-go, including highly skilled veteran actors like Eirik Espolin Johnson and Tommy Karlsen, but the end product is probably still of lower quality than the English one.
It's more a question of "What do I have a personal interest in watching?", really. The Japanese version is the original (and by far the most professionally done) and wins on account of that, while the Norwegian dub is nostalgic and has curiosity value on account of being the local dub. The English dub just doesn't have any such reasons for me to bother with it.

Just Japanese and especially English. Though I have planned to try out a few other languages I happen to come across.

I've watched Pokémon in English of course, Japanese, Finnish, Swedish and Italian. I must go with Finnish older dub, maybe just because it's my native language. Finnish Pokémon dub have however changed a lot down the road and nowadays I found it quite a weak one.
Finnish older dub in Indigo League just rules. Actors gave much feelings for their acting and characthers and script was seriously funny and more realistic than nowadays. It's the greatest dub of Pokémon for me.

English dub is avarage, there isn't anything too good or bad about it. So I guess it's good? Japanese is a little overrated IMO, but I still like it a lot. Swedish and Italian are ok.
