Other Greninja than Ash's to appear in the Sun and Moon anime?

Greninja has been crowned as #1 most popular of Japan's Top 100 Pokémon. But sadly, none of the other Greninja than Ash's have been set to appear in the Sun and Moon anime, but I thought it should've been so, because Greninja has been Japan's #1 most popular Pokémon by their fans ever. Do you think that many Greninja fans are commenting on the absence of other Greninja than Ash in the Pokémon Sun and Moon anime? Do you think that other Greninja than Ash's are set to appear in it? Do you think that Greninja's popularity is declining? If not, please tell me why not? Thanks.;)

I don't know really. They found a way to have Charizard play a role every series except DP, and for Lucario, Garchomp and Rotom to play a role in DP, BW and XY, but I don't see where a Greninja could fit. Maybe he could have a minor role in a movie or OVA.

Well, no Garchomp other than Cynthia's (herself appearing in only two episodes), did appear in the BW series IIRC, and Rotom's only appearance in the XY series (discounting Professor Oak's Rotom) was in that Lost Hotel episode. I don't know about you, but I don't consider them to be big enough roles representative of their species.

I say, Greninja's time is up and over, and I do not see chances of Ash's Greninja reappearing, not in the near future at least.

Wait, did he actually say Ash's Greninja is set to appear in SM?
I don't know if I interpreted it correctly, but...

If you don't think that a Pokemon being the protagonist of a filler in a later region nor the Pokemon being used by a returning character don't count as having a role in a series, then you are left with just Pikachu, Meowth and Wobbuffet as the ones who had a role in many series. Obviously, Rotom's role in XY s small compared to his role in SM, but he was used there because of his popularity nevertheless.

Besides, I'm positive that kids remember more the Lost Hotel Rotom than Alain's Unfezant or Ramos' Weepinbell, if that's what you're implying.

Only way Greninja would return is if Zygarde is added to the plot at some point in the future. Would be the most likely chance of it occurring.

Well, I never deny the fact that the aforementioned Pokémon had a role in the respective series; to be frank, I love it when Pokémon get some sort of focus in a generation that is not their parent generation. What I meant by a "big enough role" is a role that tends to leave a strong memory in the viewers' minds. To be honest, I specifically picked those two examples, because I had forgotten about their respective appearances in the respective series before I looked up on Bulbapedia. Clearly, one can't argue that the Rotom from the Lost Hotel episode had a role along the same representative lines as say, Serena's Braixen or Jessie's Gourgeist.

Different Pokémon have had, and will always have, different representations in a given anime series, even within the parent generation, and that's what makes the Pokémon anime a beautiful and interesting anime in my opinion. :)

His wording was a bit weird, but he's referring to how no Greninja have been set to appear in SM, despite the popularity of Greninja as a species. Ash's Greninja isn't set to appear either, but he's specifically focusing on the absence of other Greninja that aren't Ash's.

When Japan ranked Greninja as their number one favorite Pokémon, they refer to only one Greninja. The victory video made it clear where the appeal is coming from.

If Greninja shall appear, it will be Ash's. Ash-Greninja.

I'm not so sure about that. I think Ash's Greninja helps boosting the popularity of the species, but it's not just about the specific character. In fact, Greninja was chosen as a fighter in Super Smash Bros. not only before the X and Y games came out, but before the species' name had even been decided, which shows how they already knew during development that it'd be a really popular Pokémon.

Greninja may have been popular on its own, but that video they used featured only Ash's Greninja rather than all the times Greninja has been shown. Regardless of Super Smash Bros and the likes, one thing that separates Greninja from say, Charizard, is the direct connection to Ash.

Ash's Charizard is very popular, but it's not an exceptional significant specimen as we see with Red's Charizard, Blue's Charizard, and Alain's Charizard. Therefore, it was easy to give Kiawe an elder Charizard as a Ride Pokémon (rather than a fighter). Its presence doesn't make people wish for the return of Ash's Charizard.

If a Greninja appears and it's not Ash's, many people start feeling nostalgic about Ash's special frog, especially when people got him from a demo event. Why settle for a regular Greninja when you can get Ash-Greninja? And one Greninja is enough to overshadow the rest of the cast.
