Thanks for looking! Not that I don't lose often with this team
Feel free to give suggestions about the EVs as well because I might not have done a good job on them...
I made this team after reading the water offense guide on Smogon, so its full of hard hitters. Also, somebody see if I could replace someone here with a phazer.
I need Stealth Rock... any suggestions?

Electrode (Lead)
Nature: Hasty
Ability: Soundproof
Item: Damp Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
~Rain Dance
~Explosion
~Taunt
~Thunder

Taunts certain pokemon (screw aero), rain dance, and then explode. Simple

Scizor
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Technician
Item: Damp Rock
EVs: 200 HP / 56 Atk / 252 SpD
~Bullet Punch
~U-Turn
~Rain Dance
~Roost

I usually send this guy out electrode if it didn't set up the rain for reasons like the lead was a Choice Scarfer with Trick. I just send him and use rain dance and then U-Turn out into a Swift Swim sweeper (sss?). He also is good against Tyranitar, a huge threat to the rain. I have roost there just in case he needs to heal, though this Scizor doesn't really stay in very much.

Kingdra
Nature: Rash
Ability: Swift Swim
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 208 Atk / 132 SpA / 164 Spe
~Waterfall
~Hydro Pump
~Draco Meteor
~Rain Dance

Thanks Lycopene and LizardMan. Well I haven't tried this out but it probably is better than a physical set because I have been noticing how much a pain Skarmory is (and other steel types, but Skarm is the main one), coming in on Outrage and setting up. I notice that it is slightly less bulky note the -Spd nature and a life orb HP drop (not to mention someone else has a life orb)... oh well lol.
I also now lose a bit of Atk but gain a speed priority over common scarfers in the rain.

Kabutops
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Swift Swim
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Def / 204 Spe
~Waterfall
~Stone Edge
~Aqua Jet
~Swords Dance

Comes in only with the rain up and hopefully out something that will run away to get in a Swords Dance. After that it can take out a few pokemon unless its "late game", in which it's gg. Probably the strongest thing one my team if it gets to SD.

Spr_4h_145.png

Zapdos
Nature: Modest
Ability: Pressure
Item: Damp Rock
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~Thunder
~Hidden Power Ice
~Roost
~Rain Dance

I just have this pokemon here to set up the rain and/or deal massive damage with Thunder in the rain. I really haven't been able to test this set out very much because I usually leave it hidden until the end in which I just kill something easily, or it dies from a stupid crit. Stupid hax... this Zapdos can bring it all out (ice punch freeze, thunder missing, etc.). Probably just bad luck right? Anyways, it just rapes when the rain is up because of thunder's huge power.

Ludicolo
Nature: Modest
Ability: Swift Swim
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 60 HP / 252 SpA / 196 Spe
~Hydro Pump
~Grass Knot
~Ice Beam
~Rain Dance

SSS lol. Just a swift swim sweeper. I prefer hydro pump over surf

Spr_4d_260_s.png

Swampert
Nature: Impish
Ability: Torrent
Item: Damp Rock
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
~Waterfall
~Roar
~Rain Dance
~Stealth Rock

I want this to replace Scizor so I can have SR. I also wanted a phazer, and Swampert fulfills it nicely. Waterfall is just good STAB move in the rain. The EVs are lead swampert from Smogon.

Rereading this, I noticed my comments suck... but that can't be fixed lol

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

You ONLY use a mixed Kingdra.

Kingdra (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk/16 Spd/240 SAtk
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Rain Dance
- Waterfall
- Hydro Pump
- Draco Meteor

You Waterfall for the most part, Hydro Pump to get your OHKOs that Waterfall cannot (do NOT use Surf. Hydro Pump can get OHKOs that Surf CANNOT get) and you Draco Meteor those that canont be OHKO'd by Hydro Pump, or resist it heavily.

After your SpA lowers, you go back to using Waterfall.

You NEVER EVER use a Physical Kingdra, because if you're caught in Outrage that wastes a turn of rain and you do NOT need that. Trust me, I've play tested it and it is not effective.

MixDra is the only way to go.

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

ELECTRODE for your lead. Switch starmie for quilfish or ludicolo

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

You guys do realise he just copied the hell out of Lizardman's "Retired team" topic, right?

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

@Rickclev: Why? I could try that though
Edit: I think the electrode would be a bad idea... I guess its faster than aero but how would i use it? taunt first? Also, i would kinda like SR... Besides Azelf is rated better on the rain offense guide, not to mention i like trick better and azelf has better Atk

@cyrus106: wtf? i built half this team myself and then edited it after i read smogon's guide...

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

You would benefit greatly from a Damp Rock lead, as those 3 extra turns of Rain Dance are quite valuable.

I would also suggest a 3rd Swift Swimmer over Starmie, as you could use the extra firepower. Ludicolo/Qwilfish would be fine.

Also, you may want more speed on your Mixed Kingdra simply because Scarfed Rotom, Scarfed Jirachi, and Scarfed Flygon are like... everywhere. If you use Rash, and 208Atk/132SpA/164Spe you outspeed those in Rain Dance, and get pretty much all the same KO's you would with the spread you currently have. (You have the same SpA stat, and the attack EV's are to OHKO Bliss after it switches in on a Hydro Pump in Rain.)

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

@LizardMan: well... Yeah I would, but I really don't want to give up azelf... it is just sooooooo awesome. Sigh. Would this: Azelf @ Damp Rock
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Rain Dance
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Explosion

be OK? its copied from the rain guide thing

Sure, Ludicolo it is

Sounds good except that I lose a lot of attack. I'll try it though

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

Yes, that lead can work fine. xD

That is actually what I have been running for a while, and I can attest to how reliable it can be. The early rocks makes it different from other Rain Dance leads, and punishes people who try to pivot stall your Rain Dance.

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

the reason its pretty much the same as lizardmans retired team is because its hard to have much originality when making a rain dance team. Also need a electrode lead cause it beats aero. Taunt, Rain dance, then explosion. Use ludicolo or quilfish over starmie because of swift swim (use ludicolo unless you would like to have another exploder on your team then use quilfish) Also scizor isnt really needed if you use an electrode lead. And unlike lycopene i say you can use a physical kingdra....but you gotta have dragon dance, then you can sweep with waterfall. but thats all my opinion.

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

Scizor is helpful for beating Tyranitar, Abomasnow, and pokemon that are troublesome to Rain Dance teams. However, yes. If you run Electrode, you won't need Scizor as much. Just make sure you have someone else to lay Stealth Rocks, such as Bronzong.

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

Sigh...

yeah screw it... Electrode it is. I'll put in Bronzong because I have used it before and it is a good idea to have another steal type. Why don't I need Scizor then?

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

Because one of Scizor's jobs is to beat Aerodactyl. However, Scizor is still quite the useful pokemon on a Rain Dance team regardless of your lead. :p

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

Yeah it is. I guess I'll keep it.
Edit: soooo what item for zapdos? prob just a life orb becuase I have 5 rain dancers

Re: OU Rain Dance RMT

Okay, I want to try to replace Scizor with Swampert to put in the much needed SR.
