Hello, trainers!

We're officially under a month away now from the release of Pokémon Legends Z-A. With this in mind, we've set up a new policy for spoilers in new Pokémon game releases and their usage in posts out of the dedicated section and profiles. This will be in use starting with Pokémon Legends Z-A's initial release and will be used going forward until further notice.

With the release of a new game, we know some might want to jump and discuss the game's new content outside of the dedicated section or use something from them within their profile. However, to make sure people have ample time to enjoy the games on their own terms without risk of any spoilers, we set some ground rules for the launch period. Here's what we'll be doing going forward:
  • Upon reveal, anything officially announced before release is fair game to be posted about site-wide/used in profiles immediately. - If TPC has announced it already, it's complete fair game, so don't be afraid to discuss the newly announced mechanic site-wide or make your pfp the latest announced Pokémon.
  • For the first 3 weeks of release, anything unrevealed up to the game's release must be put within a labeled spoiler tab when discussed outside of the dedicated section. Use on profiles is limited and dependent. - Signatures should be fine if they use an inline spoiler that is labeled nearby (no collapsable spoiler tags per our signature rules). Meanwhile with the lack of spoiler toggle on them, avatars of this unannounced content should be held off on for these first 3 weeks
  • After 3 weeks of release, everything is fair game within all sections and on profiles, no spoiler disclaimers required!

Please note that the sections dedicated to the games may have further rules for spoilers within that section. Legends Z-A is no different, so resort to the section's spoiler rules for further information.

These site-wide spoiler policies can be found anytime within the Pokémon Video Games section rules.

Enjoy your return to Lumiose City!

I'm not sure where else to put this, but the banner that leads to this thread has a semantic oddity.

In lieu of Legends: Z-A's launch, our site-wide spoiler policy for new Pokémon game releases has been changed! Full details and policy can be found over here!
lieu means place, so in lieu means "in place" or as Google Dictionary states, "instead"...

May I suggest in light or in anticipation be used in place of in lieu. I hope I'm not being rude by pointing this out...
