Paint Shop Pro problems

I keep trying to make ONE icon, and the program keeps closing in the middle of it! All I'm doing is cropping, resizing, and laying text, but it won't even let me do that! And as you know, that makes up the majority of my icons.

What should I look for should I run a diagnostic? Here's the picture I'm trying to use, if anyone wants to experiment with it themselves (YOU know what I mean!)

Try to run a different version/build of PSP. If that doesn't help, then I honestly don't know.

Different "build"?

And I only have access to the one, unless they offer back versions for free on their website or something.
