AKA we discuss Old Man Yaoi/Old Lady Yuri/Older Het Couples in this thread.

What I mean by "mature" are characters who can we can reasonably assume are 30+ in canon. So yeah Old Man Yaoi is a misnomer but I like saying it lmaooo.

Personally my favorites are Kabu/Larry, Hassel/Brassius and Oak/Agatha but I wanna hear some what some of your favorite pairings are. Do you have any cool headcanon for them? Discuss away!!
 
FINALLY A THREAD FOR MEEEE…. I don’t really personally get that invested in ships with younger characters so this makes up the bulk of my shippingsphere.

Hassel/Brassius is so damn cute and might as well be canon to me.

I really like Lorelei/Clair, Rika/Geeta, Juniper/Fennel…. I kind of hc most gym leaders or elite 4 as being late 20s to mid 30s so this covers basically all the ships I get into
 
i don't actively engage in it's fandom but i've always really liked hassel/brassius. both their game and anime incarnations, i sincerely feel like they're coded to be gay. i can't imagine reading them any other way. and i love that for them

i have a mutual on twitter who is really into steven stone and zinnia together and on one hand i don't really get it but on the other hand they draw so much art of it that i've warmed up to it simply by proximity of their passion. i guess those two are on the younger end for this thread, but they're adults so close enough

anyway shoutout to mollie and orio/orla from horizons i think they should kiss
 
Age in Pokémon is funny because some character's ages are weirdly ambiguous. Like to this day I still don't know what age Grimsley is supposed to be considering how they gave him grey hairs and eyebags in SM and that's only 2 years after BW.

Kabu and Larry would be my obvious choice. I love a lot of Larry ships but this is the one I'd pick if I were asked to choose just one, their personalities mesh so well and their interactions in Masters are really cute. They knew what they were doing with the marketing when they released in Pokémas. Hassel and Brassius is also basically canon in my head, another couple with great personalities and very neat canon interactions. I also saw someone ship Cogita and Drasna and I kinda dig it, regardless of whether it makes sense or not.

Sometimes this stuff comes at you fast, haha. It was a rough two years. I also like the idea that maybe he was just dyeing his hair prior to this :p

I swear age is an arbitrary number in Pokémon sometimes.

Well, I guess the change in design befits an "uncle."
 
shout out to overseasshipping got to be one of my all time favorite old man yaoi ships hehehe~ bonus points if theyre written to be rivals to lovers too. its a ship i have yet to make any content for but really really love.

Ah, yes. The time has come for me to once again declare my undying love for Toxicbolt.

Maybe it’s just because I’m old fan myself and thus appreciate older-Gen ships. Maybe part of it is having taken my partner’s daughter under my wing and wanting to see Surge do the same.
Or maybe just appreciate old gay men. Either way, Koga/Surge is one of my top ships ever in any fandom, not just Pokemon.

Also when you invite Professor Rowan to the Villa, he can say this:

AZ/Cogita sounds nice too. I imagine AZ met her when he was searching for Floette and she showed him her Enamorus.

ooooooh, i never knew that about rowan at the villa!! i love how they go out of their way to visit each other in their respective regions. i'm so down for this ship ahh.

they're good for this thread! they're one of my favorites and i think both of them are reasonably between 35-45 do i'd say they're mature for sure.

awwwww it totally is!! also a lot of history between galar and sinnoh so i can see them meeting pretty easily. :yay:
