Well we know from the scans Palmer will either be appearing during the Twinleaf festival or in an episode right after it. Palmer is also Barry's father, so we know the writers will make the connection.

However does anyone think Ash and co. are going to take a little sidetrip to where the Battle Tower is located in DP? Given they put Cheryl/Mira/Riley in eps, I'm sure Buck will get one too, and I can imagine a small mini-arc about Buck and Heatran in Stark Mountain.

Does anyone think Ash is going to battle Palmer in the Battle Tower before the league even begins?

You forgot to mention Marley, that'll be an awkward episode for Brock.

Anyways they better have Barry apeear in the episode but the writers will probably just forget about that fact that he's his son. Like what happened with Clair and Lance being cousins, and Pryce's assitant being his wife.

Or how about even better? Kurotsugu invites Satoshi to battle him in his Battle Tower in *gasp* the Jouto Battle Frontier!! ;-)

Forget Brock, he has had enough, I'd really like it if Marley was more into Ash than Brock being involved at all. They could pull a Candice since Brock wasn't attracted to her. Despite looking normally like the older women he's been attracted to.

About Palmer

No I think they're interested in showing Palmer now, so Palmer can beat Ash and asks Ash to battle him in the Battle frontier when he's ready. Then Ash goes on his merrily way waiting for his rematch with Palmer.'

Oh and if he does mention the battle frontier we'll get confirmation on whether or not its in Johto or not. As for Buck, who knows, the Grand Festival could be on that Stark mountain island and we could have about ten episodes there about Dawn's Grand Festival maybe even Buck will show up. Then afterwards we head to the sinnoh league.

I don't think we'll see the Battle Tower at all. There isn't much to do there.

Also, I think Palmer is going to be like the Brandon of this battle frontier (without the annoying voice) I think he might use a legendary, like Heatran, Crestlina, or Regigigas.

Gigas is Jindai's. There's no budging there.

But YES PLEASE! to Crescelia who got the shittest debut ep for a legendary I can imagine -_-

What about Byron and Roark? They were father and son just like in the games. And the Diamond and Pearl series is sticking more closely to game materials than the previous sagas.

Yes, when Ash fought Anabel, it wasn't even a Battle Tower.
It could just be some random two-story building with a pokemon battle ring and call it the "Battle Tower."

Pryce's assitant being his wife.

Where is Pryce's Wife mentioned in the games, because for some reason I talked to everyone in Mahogany Town and not one mention of his wife. Because this is the first time I heard about Pryce having a confirmed wife.

(I say confirmed because I doubt most of everyone in the games are single).

Are you talking about the show? Chuck had a wife in the show, Pryce did not. Sheila (his assistant) didn't seem to be his wife or anything.

On Bulbapedia it says Sheila was his wife in the games but not in the anime. But I haven't seen or heard anything about a wife for Pryce until now.

The only married Johto GL I remember was Chuck. Sheila wasn't married to Pryce because he hardly gave her the time of day until he got his Piloswine back. Granted they could be married by *now*, but hey.

Also, Regigigas isn't Brandon's because he didn't catch it yet. It'd be an interesting twist if Palmer caught it while Brandon was out (and then we'd get a "NNOOOOOOO!!!!!!" that would shake the very foundations of the earth).

It will definetly be stated at some point that Palmer is Barry's father. There's no way the writers will pass on the chance to make a story about that.

...*suddenly remembers what happened with Brandon, Paul, and Reggie* Okay, maybe not. But I think we can safely say in this case it will be pointed out.

My bet's on giving Palmer his Milotic/Dragonite/Rhyperior team, not the legendary one. We haven't seen Rhyperior, right? *checks* Nope, just with Brendan. I love me some Rhyperior, can't wait to see it.

On Pryce: IIRC it was left kind of vague as to what Pryce's and Sheila's relationship was exactly. I could easily see it being romantic, though.

Yeah, I wonder if Ash could beat that team with his current Pokemon. Perhaps not, but if he uses Sceptile, Snorlax, Charizard, etc. he would. Makes me wonder how much longer till Ash uses his old Pokemon again.

I am honestly starting to get slightly bored with his current team, simply because he's had the same Pokemon for so long now. :/

I've mentioned this in another thread, but I was always under the assumption that Kurotsugu and Jun had a strained relationship.
If the anime shows the strain in the relationship off, I'd be a very happy fangirl.

I agree with this; it's what I thought as soon as I heard he was making an appearance.

After the thrashing they got from Paul, I imagine he'll get creamed badly if they fight now--Sinnoh Ash loses alot, afterall, and Palmer's probably going to be set as the "final boss" of the frontier. I suppose it's slightly possible Ash could beat his first, comparatively weaker Team now and then face the Legendary loaded one in the Frontier.
I also agree with the theory he'll mention the Frontier to Ash, and he'll decide to visit after entering (and hopefully winning) the Sinnoh League.

Ash is going to see Palmer before he even gets his 8th badge. It'll be a pretty damn long wait for a rematch, especially since there's all the rest of Sinnoh and the league to get through first. Not to mention possible Elite 4 eps.

HGSS come out in September, we won't even be at Sunyshore by then. If the writers really wanted to advertise the remakes and the BF so badly, they would have finished the rest of Sinnoh by then instead of dragging it out like they've been doing now. At this rate Ash won't even be at the league until December.

When FR/LG came out, they were still in Hoenn. The pacing was pretty bad if they were trying to advertise the remakes. Now, the pacing is a bit slower, they seem to be mapping out exactly what they want to do in the show. That's why I think they made the decision to stick with a solid plot and finish it solidly, not just speed up to advertise the remakes.

Also, advertising for main games doesn't stop in that first month. It goes on and on and on for months, well into next year as well. Since there's no 5th gen for at least 2 more years, HGSS will be milked for everything its worth.

I'd love just one change to that line-up: No Milotic! Or at least not one that Pikachu finishes off!

Legendaries can stay home as far as I'm concerned, too.
