This died a long time ago, but you can still look at the character list.

Mario (Main character, appears most often.)
Bowser(Not exactly neutral, pro-or-antagonist. Can be considered an antihero.)
Luigi/Mr.L (Luigi is a protagonist, Mr. L is an antagonist. Mr. L only appears in Brobot L. Type fight. Luigi only appears in the Underwhere. Very uncommon character.)
Peach(Protagonist. Does not appear with Mario while fighting against Fracktail, but appears everywhere else except interludes.)
Dimentio (Most common villain, main antagonist. Appears in interludes, beginning of fight against fracktail, and final boss.)
Fracktail (Neutral character. Appears in his own bossfight, only one interlude, and ending cutscene.)
Toad (Appears in most levels as Mario's helper.)
Yoshi (Many appear on Yoshi's Island, but this specific green one is rescued there and becomes a partner. Special moves: Flutter Jump, Multi-flutter, Tattle)
Francis Fought in Fort Francis. Neutral, only annoys you by catching Yoshi after your Yoshi's Island journey. In this RP, his interest turned from butterflies to Yoshis.)

I have an idea for a plot:
Dimento plans to steal the Paper de World, a piece of paper that controls Paper Mario world. In other words, he plans to make Paper Dimento world, a Paper world in his image, and plans to erase people from the sheet (aka good guys like Mario) so they won't restore Paper Mario world. :)>< Good idea, no?
 
^That's the smartest thing ever.

Icetail, at this point, couldn't you have all the other characters be NPCs?
