So I found this on Tumblr of the intro for Phoebe:

For some reason the screen goes black while talking to her, and we see a ghost girl in Phoebe's chair. It also appears in the video for a brief moment at around the 50s mark.

You see the girl again right before you battle Phoebe, standing beside her. She's obscured by the PC, but you can see her head.

Why do you think it would be? The Unova ghost girl seems to be different and related to Darkrai/Cresselia.

As for Phoebe, I hear that in the post-game
She is seen on Mt. Pyre talking to ghosts...and her grandmother (the old woman guarding the orbs) is not there?

Game Freak needs to come full circle with this and have Phoebe cameo in a future game with a Trevenant/Phantump in her party:

In Mt. Pyre, a Hex Maniac says:

I think its likely the Lumiose Ghost Girl before she becomes a ghost, as she's a regular NPC.

The Hex Maniax must be from XY and not the otherwise..

If ORAS timeline is indead before XY, this Hex Maniax/Ghost must know Time Traveling... Or she is actually a psychic and not ghost and her presence in XY just projection of her Time Travel skill..

Considering what we know about the alternate realities...what if the hex maniac's talking about the right universe instead of the player or anyone else in particular? Then again...it's not like she disappears or the lights flicker like they did in XY so who knows.

Unless that was overlapping realities. Like...she really isn't a ghost and wasn't interacting with the player that time but the player in the other timeline.

The apartment in Mauville Hills that has the great deal on rent may be haunted considering that if you press the intercom you get an "..." rather than the standard message that the other empty apartments get.
 
Nah, if we return to Kanto it will be for another new story. (hopefully with Red as a living legend, battleable in the postgame like in Johto games)

New theory: Little girl on Phoebe's throne is her grandmother, who's spirit manifests as a young child. If you visit Mt. Pyre after beating your game's legendary, the grandmother is already missing, and it is heavily suggested post-game that she is dead. When you speak with Phoebe, one of your choices for her question "What are you doing here?" is "Paying respect". If you choose that option, she'll talk about how her grandmother praised your PC (both choices reference her grandmother), but this made it seem like the PC was there to pay respects to the old woman as well. On a side note, its interesting that she disappeared after the weather anomaly caused by Groudon/Kyogre. What if she was one of the casualties?
 
I noticed something strange in Phoebe's intro as well.
At one point the camera angle takes position on the same spot as the chair behind Phoebe. From that moment on, and this happens only in Phoebe's room, the camera isn't fixed and moves freely, as if you were looking through someone elses eyes.
 
I just challenged her today and HOLY FUCK. NO! Geez I don't wanna. And Phoebes all like happily swinging her arms like nothing's going on. GIRL THERE IS A GHOST IN YOUR CHAIR!
