So would anyone be disappointed if this match were to happen in the League?
It's just whenever we mention these two, it usually tends to be in the aspect that they're both Ash's rivals. And I generally tend to see people talking about Ash facing both of them come time for the Sinnoh League.
The thing is though, the events throughout all the recent DP episodes have made this a very plausible match up waiting to happen at a big time.
Seeing as Ash has already beaten Jun, he has nothing really to prove against him anymore. He's imparted his own beliefs on how to raise Pokemon, which, to Jun, may be very credible after having lost to Ash. Nonetheless, it's there for Jun to take or leave depending on what he wants, but Ash has still beaten him, and that puts away any doubt or question about their match up.
So what about the idea of using Jun as a measuring stick against Paul to show how strong Paul is before facing Ash, or even using Paul as a means to show that he's improved?
They could even take it a step further by having somehow shown that Jun's learned from Ash's ways, and if he makes the match close, this could act as a trigger of confidence and belief in Ash regarding his own methods of raising Pokemon (considering Paul may have just crushed them). In turn, this could start the questioning on Paul's side, all while some interesting interaction occurs between Jun and his one time idol in Paul.
I don't know, I just think there's a lot of great development that could get done if they have this match up. There are so many ways you can spin it, and it all makes for an amusing plot piece, if you ask me.
They do things like this all the time in other tournament arc anime, and I think it could be pretty cool. Additionally, it kind of seems like the anime has set it up as a pretty good possibility.
Thoughts? Opinions? Sorry if this is rather ill-written, I'm kind of distracted by different things as I type this up. Hopefully it comes across coherent though.
