I am no hardcore player, but I have some principles on how I play and I expect to play aganist other people around the world (Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection), but I wonder if I am not being too unreasonable.

-If my opponent has 2 or more Ubers (non-smogon tier) it is possible that I will GIVE IN randomly.

Seriously, there is a reason for Ubers to exist and for me to avoid a battle with them, balance.

-Additionally, if my opponent keeps using Dark Void on double battles I am more likely to GIVE IN and avoid frustration.

-If my opponent clearly has the upper hand on double battles and I am on my last pokemon, it is possible that I'll GIVE IN.

Now, on DS some people tend to disconnect whenever they feel like it, I don't like to do that, you know, DS Wi-Fi battles involve friends after all.

Other than that, I try to play fairly and try to use some variety, focusing on OU pokemon tends to be boring, sometimes I net for movesets but I usually feel the need to alter them, it is kind of ridiculous for me to have a supporter with no offensive moves for example.

Anyway, what do you think? do you have any policy while playing PBR online?

Giving in is different to disconnecting, at least. Generally, I'll only give in if the person I'm playing has a team of mostly legendary pokemon. Unfortunately that seems to be all the time.

I always get frustrated when my opponent gives in, especially if I'm close to beating him/her. That's not how I want to win. Therefore, I never give in, no matter how hopeless a battle may appear. Sometimes my Pokemon surprise me.

Also, I never use any legendaries. Ever.

I never give in/run/disconnect/whatever. It makes you a poor sport.
Also, it is more fun to beat a hacker then to run from one.

When I play PBR online, I almost never disconnect, unless the opponent's team is full of obvious, hacked Uber Pokémon.

I never disconnect. When the foe gives in, I'm mildly annoyed, but I see that I'd win no matter what. If the foe disconnects, that really irks me.

What? I know there can be hacked shinies, but am I supposed to watch out for any other hacks?

What are the most common cheaters out there?

Anything involving Pokesav. Wondertomb, Shinies with maxed out stats, pokemon with impossible movesets, hacked bidoofs, and much more.
You will find more hackers on DPPtHGSS, as unlike PBR, there is no hack filter. There were (and still are) loads of hacks on gts, so if you are in a tourney and trying to stay clean, don't use GTS.

Well, I only use GTS to get Masuda method pokemon, I can't use GTS in Platinum since it has the level bug (cuz something like that must be a bug), I don't participate on tournaments, I am mostly a breeder, as for DS hacks I only play with friends and the only one with an AR among us is myself.

But how many cheats does the PBR filter let slip?

It lets quite a few slip. It doesn't check everything. Like i saw plenty of hacks (and bad EGGs) in the 2007 gamestop PBR tourneys.

unless your a woman, then you make me a sandwich?
seriously, don't be so sexist:)

Ok, but still, don't leave just because you're losing. I hate it when people do it on shoddy, and I don't, EVER. Even if I'm down to one Pokemon and the other person still has all six, I don't give up. I've come back from that situation before.

On a side note, never underestimate a Nasty Plot Togekiss.

Never give in, if you're losing, you take you beating like a man.
Well, if my Choice Banded Hippowdon is locked on Earthquake and my opponent is Charizard + Umbreon it is hard to not give in, let's say, if it were "real" wouldn't you prefer to give your pokemon a break and accept defeat?

Anyway, I hope to not find any other hacks on WiFi, the moment I see ubers I expect for my opponent to avoid using them since I am not using any; too bad it did't work last time.

Seriously, this guy had Regirock, Registeel, Regigigas, Regice, Latios and Darkrar, I gave in the second his Darkrai used Dark Void in both pokemon, then I searched for an opponent again and he was there again, with the same starting pokemon (Darkrai and Regigigas) as if the message wasn't clear enough, I managed to KO Darkrai after a lot, then here comes Latios, sorry but I can't stand it.
