Hey every one just thought I'd make a thread for PearlShipping, this is between Ash and Hikari. Hikari is a new girl coming to Dimond and Pearl, Ash will be going there soon from what I gathered in the spoilers section. Any who thought I'd get an early start on the thread since it will be starting soon. If you want to join feel free to do so;

ROLF Well I guess that could be how he meets Team Galxy and Hikari but it could be done differently. Any who does that mean you'd like to join? I'm a big fan of PearlShipping =]

I hope Hikari/Ash get lots of shippy moments like blushing and such.
 
It could be a good ship, depending on what Hikari's personality is.

At least it isn't Pokeshipping, and as long as Hikari doesn't act like Misty, I could get used to it.

Awesome, from what I saw in the poster Hikari looks like a cool looking girl. She would look great with some one like Ash. And nope this def is not Pokeshipping. So wait did you want to join the fan listing?


New Question;

What do you think will be the first things Hikari and Ash say to each other?
 
Most likely something like "Hey, I'm Ash." "Hi, I'm -english name/Hikari-." like usual..or they'll go through a whole thing with TR/TG/some other issue that comes up, then introduce each other. >_>

I'm not a Pearlshipper...yet. Though depending on if she's as cool as she looks, I might become one. 8D I have enough ships under my belt, can't hurt to add another one.
 
I'd like to join, if that's okay. So we have yet to learn about the infamous Hikari, but that leaves the door open for countless opportunities, even PearlShipping. I usually don't participate in ships, I love to read them, but this is one where I'd like to contribute.

No problem I'll add you right awau, and yes that does leave more moment opertunity between them. That would be awesome if you helped contribute, I bet this ship will get more popular once Hikari joins too, which is pretty soon XD

In the middle of peril. It could make the fateful encounter much more exciting, but that's just me.

Or maybe the writers will chane things and have Ash get a bike from Delia and that Pachirisu everything expects Hikari to have will fry it.
 
What really CAN they do with Hikari shipping-wise?

Is Ash going to interact with her the same way he did with May? Is Hikari going to get her own rivals and have her own version of Drew?

Her options probably are limited because it'll be a blatant copy of past shipping plots in this show.
 
.......Wuh? The writers have more than two shipping archetypes at their disposal. O_O I'm sure they can write a romance for Hikari that isn't a carbon copy of Pokeshipping or Contestshipping.
 
What I mean is Hikari's only plausible options shipping wise will be Ash or some new guy that doesn't travel with them.

Could be Gary I guess, but that kinda seems like Contestshipping even with different personalities.

That's why Hikari as a whole seems quite confusing, the writers will need to figure out a way to incorporate her that she doesn't become a clone of May or a sidekick like Misty.
 
So maybe they'll pair Hikari with Ash. I don't see any reason to assume that Pearlshipping will automatically have to become a clone of some other Ash-pairing. I suppose Advanceshipping is a clone of Pokeshipping, then?

Alternately, they'll pair her with someone else. Why would Hikari/Gary be a rehash of May/Drew? Hikari and Gary are unlikely to be rivals. Either that or there'll be some other secondary character who behaves nothing like Drew. Maybe a new guy will join the group and she'll have a romance with him.

As for not making Hikari a clone of May or Misty, that's the easiest thing in the world. Just give her May's importance but give her a different quest. Tah-dah.

You're just hunting for excuses to argue that replacing May with Hikari would be a terrible idea, aren't you? :p Swifty, what was that acronym again? Fear, discord and...?
 
No, most of the fandom agrees that D/P sounds like Hoenn all over again. Ash meets a new girl, Team Galaxy's desire to control the legends is almost exactly the same as TA/TM and Groudon/Kyorge, Brock might possibly come back, and they'll need to figure out a way not to treat her like May's blatant replacement.

The transition from Johto to Hoenn was easy enough because May was introduced to do what a female never did in the show before. This time they're replacing a heroine with another heroine, and it's much harder to work with.

I'll be interested to see how they handle it, at least for the first two episodes.
 
Hikari is doing a totally different quest to May. She will not be doing Super Contests. She might not even be collecting symbols. If you're already looking to peg her as May's replacement when the series hasn't even started, then allow me to escort you to the Irony cart, 'cause that's what Misty's fans did when the first AG posters with May on them came out.
