People in my local news paper were comparing Bush to Hitler

My local news paper is "The Day", and I remember a while ago (Like a few months), people in the letters to the editor column were saying Bush is like Hitler.

I personally think that is a load of crap. Bush is bad, but not THAT bad. Bush =/= Dictator.
 
I think they are very similar in method, just not in objectives.
 
There are similarities (both of them, for example, used a very visible "terrorist" attack - 9-11 for Bush, the Reichstag burning for Hitler - to exert much more control than previous government over the citizens. Of course, it's doubtful that Bush ordered 9-11, whereas it'S widely believed that Hitler was behing the burning in the first place...), but due to the massive stigma associated with Hitler's name, any comparison between the two right now is bound to be ridiculous.

Now, if they install a gas chamber (or other mean of killing people) at Guantamo and start mass-murdering local prisoners without trial AND mass-importing any arab even remotely suspected of having anything to do with terrorism there, then yeah, the comparison would be valid.

Of course, chances of that happening are astronomically low.
 
Yeah. As much as I hate to agree with Ridley, Bush isn't quite that bad. I still hate the man, but he isn't evil incarnate. Just stupidity incarnate.
 
Yeah, but if you watch Star Wars episode 3, there are hidden messages in it proving that Bush DID order the 9-11 attack.
 
I've seen some proof as well that "NON-terrorists" were beind the "attacks". Especially at the Pentagon, most people said it looked like a missle hit it...not a plane. I'm willing to believe that terrorists might have been hired my Bush and/or his cronies to stage an attack to keep him in power.

Bush isn't particularly evil. He's just a really, really good troll. This is what I honestly believe. I also wouldn't be surprised either way on the 9/11 conspiracy.

Chaos ftw!

Episode III is more of a commentary on Hitler/Nazi Germany, people associate the story with the Bush Administration because it's current.

It could be considered an allegory of both, because it's modeled after the general "strongman uses emergency to gain absolute power" trend that's occured through history.

Personally it reminds me mostly of the fall of the Roman republic.

Hitler is a bit much. Bush isn't quite evil nor smart enough to be Hitler. He's more of a Mussolini at best.
Besides, he's far too fond of Israel to ever be a new Hitler.

I agree. In my opinion, I don't think Bush ment us harm. I just think he is kind of crazy. But since I am only 13, I don't know much about Politics, so...

Agreed. He's just a stupid Human in a democracy that not everyone takes part in. But don't get me started on the Electoral College....

Would you prefer comparison with Zangoose? They've got an 1000+ year issue with Seviper for some reason AND wouldn't even share their first appearence in the same game...
(Despite the fact they can be bred with each other)
