I had a theory were the trend of changing girls every saga will come to an end with Black & White. One factor is that it would be more economic to keep a well-rounded permanent cast (Ash + Girl + Pokemon mascots) and a secondary cast from the new games whose primary job is to promote the games and exhibit its new features.

This thread is to have shippers of all kinds express their opinions of how this would impact their shipping, and give reasons why the girl they ship Ash with has a chance of becoming his permanent counterpart in Pokemon BW and beyond. There is also a poll for that. Minor shippings are not included.

Remember, this is a theoretical situation and should be taken as such, but don't deviate the discussion with unrealistic points.

You can also advocate for an original, never-before-seen girl, describe how she would compliment Ash.

I'm thinking Dawn, simply because Piplup and her are so damn marketable.
 
If there was an option, I'd vote nobody. I think the trend of change will continue, and I've never been a big fan of Ash x Main Girl shippings anyway.

But why are minor shippings not included? It wouldn't have been hard to add a "Other" or "None of the above" option.
 
I vote dawn, she's already received the character development, and I am really tired with the whole GIRL EXCHANGE PROGRAM that happens every 4-5 years, it's pretty annoying

4-5 years? It happens a lot more often than that.
 
well yeah, but since that's the approximate time limit so far I'm just going to say 4-5 years
 
Now we need some support from the Advance shippers. Dawn might have the current advantages and Misty might have a lot of the nostalgia fans, but May might be the most versatile girl, as she already has shipping experience with Drew.
 
I think I'd vomit on myself if Misty came back. I couldn't handle the fanbrats.

That's ancient history. We dont know what Misty has been up to recently since she didnt appear in DP yet.

She might have changed her look as well (similar to Misty in HGSS). She might look cuter to Ash like that compared to her original anime look.

Remember to keep it kosher. If you want to say a certain comment, re-edit them so it sounds civil and diplomatic.

Add on the fact that Misty went from being horrible and bitchy to being boring and bland makes it worse. She's not even likable.

Change that to unpleasant and argumentative. The more civil you are, the most chances you will get to express your true opinions instead of being warned/banned or having this thread closed.

Yes, this is an opinion and reasoning thread. Just say your opinions in a constructive way (ie. why or why not you believe something).
 
Anyway, I'm banking on Dawn sticking around for at least another gen. She's been great for marketing, she's well developed, and having lost the GF it makes sense for her to stay on with Ash for more time.

I agree completely. Although I do have to add that one does not have to be a PokeShipper to like Misty. *points to self, mouthing the word "OrangeShipper"*

as much as the fans hate it, the writers will do whatever they want, even if a whole lot of people like Misty doesn't mean that they're going to bring her back. They're in their own world and running their girl exchange program machine right now

I'm down with Orangeshipping. Misty is actually somewhat enjoyable in Chronicles when we get a lot of cute Tracey/Misty interaction.

But I can't see her rejoining Ash as a good move in any respect. Their dynamic is not...cohesive for the progression on the series.
