Personalized Online Pokedex Idea

I've had a pretty good idea.
Unfortunately, my skills in such matters are lacking. As in I have none.

Anyway, my idea;
There are loads of websites out there with personalized lists, like XBox 360/PS3 achievements/trophies, games lists, that are linked to a user profile.
And they can be edited by the user by checkboxes and such.
I was thinking it'd be pretty good if there was an online Pokedex that was in the same form.
For example, you make a username and you can attached to it a list of pokemon you've caught and/or seen and from within which of the various games you've done it. To show off to friends (if by that point you have any left, I lost all mine during the Emerald saga).
But not only that, as I mentioned above, the site it self could serve as a master pokedex, indexing all the data on the pokemon.
I know there are websites already around that have info on pokemon, like a Pokedex, but I think it'd be cool to be able to make a personalized list.
Of course there will be people that abuse it and lie, but I think it'd be nice to show off all the hard work the people who don't cheat put in to catch 'em all. (sorry, couldn't resist)

Maybe I'm just chasing rainbows.

I think that's a good idea, but lots of people online have finished their PokeDex. I have completed mine (except some events, but events don't count).

i'm workin my way through the national on diamond till i have enough spare pennies for HG
so i think an idea like this is step in the right direction.
unfortunately i'm not good at stuff like this either
but if poss keep me posted

you could create your own userpage on the main bulbapedia site & work with that - copy the code from the "national pokedex" page & paste it in your own with a few edits or something

maybe? (idk...)

as i've never filled a 'dex yet (unless you count Pt's "way").
