Or Nyaasu, the Meowth as I know him (having only the dub to go by, besides online sources of just descriptions basically- and I'm not one of the dub fans who are completely behind on everything, I keep up with stuff, but I rarely watch the episodes until they're released in the US) isn't exactly the philosophical type, hence my curiosity to know, well, if there are any examples off the top of your alls' heads of that side of Nyaasu/Meowth. I'm a fangirl of the character, I'm sad to say. :p So that's the main reason why I'm so keen. Mind sparing some knowledge for the lowly dub follower?

Erm, well, the lyrics to Meowth's Song/Nyasu no Uta (which is great).

And the scenes where he talks to Meowthtwo, Mewtwo and Oliver the Pidgey about the moon and such in Mewtwo Strikes Back, Mewtwo Returns and Fly Me to the Moon, I suppose.

Whenever Meowth talks about the moon, I guess.

I don't think he ever did that in AG though, seems to be something strictly from Kanto-Johto that the writers forgot about later on. Could be wrong though.

He does sing the song in the hoso specials, though... while trying to woo Eneco-chan. xD

Yes, Fly Me To The Moon! I always seem to forget that one. ^^;;

In that episode Max asks him why he can talk, and Meowth basically starts talking about Meowsy and Hollywood briefly, (even with a flashback, the Kanto animation sure looked different in an AG ep), but it ended really quickly because Max stopped listening to him.

Thinking about it...was there ever a scene in DP where Hikari was suprised by the talking meowth?

I wish Meowth would sing more often..

It's funny, most people don't seem to notice that he can talk. Even that one Ultimate Test instructor was more of "Hey, that's pretty cool" than "OMGTALKINGMEOWTH!"

I've heard and seen the translation of the lyrics (I can't speak any Japanese, alas) before for both Nyasu no Uta and Hey Pikachu, and I love them both! I was hoping for some more in-episode examples, and thanks for those.

J was interested in Nyasu' speech, but yeah, she wasn't all 'OMG TALKING POKEMON.' The lackey seemed pretty surprised, but not that much.

I think the Meowth/Pikachu song "Hey Pikachu!" shows a wonderful side of Meowth.. And how he looks to Pikachu.. <3
Bwhahaha, oh God, yes. Best song of the entire anime.

Nyasu no Uta is at least in Go West, Young Meowth and the Conricles episode Of Meowth and Pokémon/A Little Skitty like QuietDragon said. ^^ 4kids doesn't translate the song and uses different lyrics both times, though.

*waits for someone to come in and say "No, Chronicles should not be mentioned, call it Hoso!" as it usually happens when someone types the word "Chronicles"*

I don't think Hey Pikachu's even been in an episode, unfortunately. Too bad, I would love to see Pikachu respond to Meowth's admitted lov- er... feelings.

In that Chronicles episode, 4Kids has Meowth sing a completely different song written just for that episode, IIRC.

In "Go West, Young Meowth," I think they kept the same tune and just changed the lyrics. In the Chronicles episode, they changed both the tune and the lyrics completely.

>He sang that in the Hosou specials?

Once, yes, he did.
