The title says it all: Will you get your version in a physical or a digital format?

I'm currently undecided but both sides have very good points.

Physical:
  • I'd get to see and have the box (problem is, I'm running out of space for them).
  • I'd get any pre order bonuses from a store near me (sadly, it isn't the figure the Japanese are getting, nor the pin from UK stores, but oh well).
  • Not linked to my SD cards.
Digital:
  • I can access it anytime I want (Since me and my sister each get a version, there is no need to really get the game out of the console).
  • I can get it immediately from launch (Since I'm still in my semester by that day, I might not be able to go to a store at all in those weeks. This would be a very convenient solution).
  • If there is a pre-load option that means I can play it just as it comes out (not that important... but still).
In the end, I think it will depend of the prices I get for both and how busy I am at the moment of launch.

How about you?

Normally, I'm cool with both, but looking at these games.. the game files are gonna be huge. The download will take forever, and not to mention you probably won't have much space on ur 3Ds for much more, and figuring as I already have Link Between Worlds, Pokémon X, and Pokémon art Academy downloaded onto my 3DS, there won't be room for anything else if I put Sun or Moon on there. So physical copy it is.

I almost always get my games in physical unless they're PC games (my computer lacks a disc drive) or really old games that can only be gotten through things like the Virtual Console legally. Old games don't take up that much space anyway. Also, for Pokemon, nothing beats the feeling of those beautiful boxes with their legendaries and bright colors.

Definitely physical. While I'm also running low on space for cases, especially when I factor in my DS games, I love having a cool box to look at and hold my game cart. I'm also not really into getting digital copies of video games in general. At least my progress isn't tied into the SD card completely. If my 3DS breaks or I somehow lose it, then there goes all the progress I made with the games. Not to mention the download time would be long, especially now that we know how much space the game will take. I don't mind it if it's for older games that I could no longer find like on the Virtual Console, but generally speaking, I've never been into buying digital copies for my games and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon.

Besides all that, I wouldn't have any room on my SD card for the games. Even before learning about how huge the download file was going to be, I don't think my SD card for my original 3DS system would be able to handle brand new game. Just downloading the Duel Carnival game took up a huge chuck of my SD card. I could try to transfer the data to a new SD Card, but I tried that once and lost all of my progress. Now that I have Pokemon games downloaded there, I don't know if I'd want to take the chance of losing all of that progress. I have been toying with the idea of getting the New 3DS Galaxy system in time for Sun/Moon, mainly for the bigger screen due to how beautiful the graphics look, but even if I do decide to get that upgraded system, I still wouldn't be interested in buying the game digitally. Getting physical copies is just more appealing to me and generally has more benefits than I think digital copies do.

Physical.

No download time or risk of corruption. Besides I don't have the space for something that size either and I won't be able to pick up my New 3DS XL until right after the game comes out. So even if I wanted to I couldn't get the download on release.

The only time I do downloads are for virtual console or steam.

While I've grown to be okay with digital copies (still don't own a single game digitally though), I'll be getting this as a physical copy since my girlfriend is getting it for me.

I also want that pretty box to add to my shelf.

I always go with physical copies. My reasoning is similar to others here, in that I like to keep a physical box and game card for a collection.

I won't mind if Nintendo decided to go completely digital in the future, as long as they give us the space for plenty of games.

Physical all the way, for console anyway. I will never get tired of the feeling of having a cartridge or a disc and a nice box that goes along with them. It feels more like I actually own the games then.

Only exception is PC, of course. Steam masterrace.

I am going with physical. It may be easier to lose, but it's so nice to look at the box and think: "This is mine. This is all mine!" *Laughs maniacally*

Physical, hands down. There is nothing more satisfying when it comes to new games than picking up the game box, opening it up, and slotting in the game into my game console with that nice little click (or whirl, depending on the console and game type). Not to mention I don't have to worry about memory space issues (especially considering how cluttered mine already is, let alone what the demo will add to it), and there's no download time. Sure, I am sort of running out of space for the boxes (fortunately, I have what I call a media cabinet, stuffed with DVDs and video games, and I have a large 3DS carrying case with over 30 game pockets, so I have the needed space), but I'd rather deal with physical space issues than digital space issues (the latter which annoy me far worse than the former, as at least in the former's case I can just reorganize things and not have to outright delete things and hope it'll fit). Plus just simply looking at the box art and little bits of artwork in the game booklet is always a nice little perk. And just simply holding the game in my hands gives me a sense of control and freedom, as it's not restricted by certain things such as downloading and memory. Might be a little pricier than downloading (don't really know for sure, as the only "purchased" downloadable game I've gotten was Yugioh WDC, though that is because downloading it was the only option for me), but I'd rather spend the money on something I can hold than something that's purely digital. So I will always go for the physical version if given the chance.

Physical, because old habits die hard and I have little reason to get it digitally. Though I need to look into my shipping options since I don't like running the risk that I may not be able to go out that day.

I prefer digital games because they're all in one place and I don't have to change the cartridge every time! But there are some exceptions because I want the physical copy of all my favorite games!
