CBC News said:
A B.C. Supreme Court jury on Sunday found Robert William Pickton guilty on six counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of women who disappeared from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

The seven men and five women on the jury returned to the court in New Westminster with their decision after nine full days of deliberations.

Lead crown prosecutor Mike Petrie, right, and associate Derrill Prevett leave the B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster, B.C., on Sunday.

Pickton showed no emotion as the verdicts were read.

The 58-year-old pig farmer from Port Coquitlam, B.C., was arrested in 2002 and had been charged with first-degree murder in the six deaths.

Well, it's about time.

He's going to get 6 life sentences and he could apply for full parole in 10-25 years?(according to to what I heard today.)

God, the justice system isn't fair anymore.

It will all depend on whether the sentences are consecutive (one after the other) or concurrent (served at the same time).

Edit several hours later:

Robert Pickton has been given the maximum possible sentence for second degree murder: life in prison with no eligibility for parole for 25 years. In other words, the same sentence as he would have gotten had he been found guilty of first-degree murder. The sentences will be served concurrently, however.

On a related note, every juror who sat on the trial will be given psychiatric help for post-traumatic stress syndrome should it arise in any of them.
