So he isn't the DP Rival, but he still looks hot....in fact, he resembles V-Neck dude....

His design is far too bland to be a recurring character.

Awesome, scratch him off the list of Dawn's potential love interests.

I doubt the writers can ever top Harley, so whoever Dawn's second rival turns out to be is bound to be a downgrade nonetheless.

How can you tell a character is going to be recurring or not just because YOU think his design is too bland?

If you look right down to it, Drew's clothes and hairstyle aren't that special to begin with. No offense to Drew fangirls.

Recurring characters tend to have unique looks and are more distinguishable from filler characters. The writers tend to do this so the characters are easily memorable and recognizable to little kids, especially with rival characters who go long gaps without appearing.

Gary, Drew, Harley, and Shinji all have more detail in both their appearances and clothing than your average filler character.

Plus, uh, he has the evolved form of Pochama. I doubt we're going to see a rival with the same Pokemon line as Dawn throughout D/P. Nozomi is enough for the time being, especially since we barely know anything about her and she hasn't even been fleshed out yet.

His design reeks of an average filler character. Heck, even of one-shot coordinator standards he's bland. May's rivals like Grace, the Phantom, Kelly, Savannah, Erika, Salaryman, and Brianna were all better designed. Shame that none of them ever returned, but you get the point.

And ugh, do we really need another snobbish male coordinator in the show? That's the main reason the writers went with a girl for Dawn's main rival, they obviously didn't want to repeat what they did with May.

Pokenai mentions stuff (I might of translated this wrong...) about how he despises Dawn, and it seems he isn't a coordinator...but, I think he enters just to beat Dawn or something...

Also, it mentioned something about Drifloon and a TM or something in the Drifloon episode...


Anyway, wonder who his appeal guy (if he has one) will be?

But see, she had a good character.

Eriko and her wanna-be boyfriend from May´s final Hoenn contests were bland as hell as well...hm,..no..they were worse.

As for ranting against kengo´s clothes..it´s not like drews clothes were THAT genius or original.

Let´s wait until we´ve SEEN the episode before jumping to conclusions.

I'm propably the only one who likes Kengo's design. It's awesome.

And I never really give a crap whether they have a boring design. Shuu, Wakana, Tsukiko, Eriko and Toshiki looked bland as hell to me, but I still liked them =/
