I have read a lot on this website about how the battle was pretty lame. I know that the series is different from the game, but the battle was a bad way to end the BF series.
Iron Tail is super-effective, but it could not reduce Regice’s defense stats because of its Clear Body ability. Not to mention, that Rest recovered all of its energy. Also it was paralyzed by Thunderbolt, but got rid of it with Rest.
Pikachu took a Focus Punch, Ice Beam, Blizzard (I don’t really know if Pikachu actually took direct damage from the attack but it did do some damage), and don’t forget the recoil it took from using Volt Tackle on a fully healed Regice. It took a Volt Tackle and was declared unable to battle, but really it was difficult to tell if it was really down for the count.
If it was beaten and unable to continue I would only say it was knocked out because it hit the wall so hard from the impact of Volt Tackle.
So, who thinks that the only reason Pikachu’s Volt Tackle won was because the writers just wanted to end the series with the new move that it learned?
