Ooh, crossposting. ._.; Dunno if that's illegal here, or what. Oh well.

An oekaki, done entirely in tones of black-and-white patterning. About 2-3 hours of work.

Something random from my sketchbook, originally sketched in ballpoint pen, and finished up in Col-Erase pencils.

More randomness from my sketchbook. .. Uh.. yeah. Ballpoint pen.

Style experimentation, ballpoint pen, AUGH THE BURNING.

Note: The following images are webcam shots of paintings too big to scan.

art_in_a_bag_redux.jpg

This was from Mixed Media's art-in-a-bag project, where each student takes a bag for a week, and does drawings and/or paintings of the objects. I suspended the objects with kite-string, and then did a painting of them without even doing a sketch underneath. Prussian Blue watercolor, India-ink wash, red watercolor-pencil, and white gouache, on watercolor-paper.

I was trying to go in a new direction with this one, but just didn't like where I was going. It still looks neat, though. Acrylic ink, watercolors, and gouache, on watercolor-paper.

self_portrait_redux.jpg

A self-portrait... I didn't like it at its time of completion, but it's growing on me. India-ink, acrylics, acrylic ink, and oil-pastels, on canvas-board.

still_life_hats_metal_redux.jpg

My first - and possibly, strongest - piece from Mixed Media. A still-life of two hats, two washcloths, and metal thingamabobs. Acrylics, acrylic ink, oil pastels, and graphite, on canvas-board.

Wooh. I think that's about it. o_0 Feel free to post a reply, and tell me what you think.

Misao: <Hey, look. Chris-fairy posted some art for the first time in [insert large number here] months.>

*look look*

First piccy - Oooh, spiffy. I like it a lot - particularly the scenery. The mountain and the waterfall are my favorites in particular...

Fourth piccy - I thought you were working out a problem at first. Then again, swirls have little relevance to mathematics. n_n;;

Sixth piccy - I can imagine a horror movie involving a hand bursting out of a bottle. Huh? Oh, the piccy, not the completely and utterly irrelevant comments. I like this - not only does it look kind of dark (as in the mood, but I'm high off of vanilla coke), but I like how it looks overall.

As for the others... I'm not commenting because I don't have a comment, or because I feel it'd be spammy, but meh. Overall, those look great. ^^

That's quite a collection, Karate. And a refreshing view because it's totally different from what we usually see here. My favorite is the first one. A great use of halftones. The landscape is great.

I'd comment on the other pieces, but my brain isn't really working at this hour, so I'll just say they're really good. ^_^

Fascinating! Such a different kind of subject matter than what one usually finds in the Bulbagarden art forum (I guess that's to be expected though), which of course only adds to its interest. Art like this never ceases to intrigue.

All of them are works of talent, but I especially love the last one... there's just something about the colors and the subtlety (I like to think of it as implications) in its very simplicity. The self-portrait appeals to me a lot, too.

Of course, they're all good, though, but then you probably already knew that.
