Hi, I want to know your opinion about this film, if you have seen it already. I just saw it, and I think it's a great movie, but I was kinda disappointed about how they ended the Mermaid-Missionary relationship. "Oh, you're wounded! I'll drag ya to our empire and if they don't eat you, maybe we can get a tail for ya!"

I think they should have the mermaid live with the missionary, and let them have fish/human babies.

It's like Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah in Splash, I guess?

Not to worry. They'll probably appear again in the next sequel.

I hate these films, cheesy and annoying with even more annoying actors.
Orlando Bland and Keira Knightley are so wooden you could make Ikea furniture out of their performances.
Johnny Depp still doing his drunken Keith Richard impression which wasn't really funny the first time and certainly not the fourth time. It saddens me 'cuz he can act, he proved it in Fear & Loathing.
I hope they won't make more of these, but I'm not gonna keep my hopes up since they probably will, knowing that a lot of people are ready to fork out money to see this crap.

Something like that yes...

Let's hope we'll see them again, because I don't get why they had such a short subplot. Could easy been larger, and easier to understand...

it's out? i thought they were releseing it worldwide on the 22 or 26th
EDIT:Going To Ask My Nan If I Can See It When She Goes

You all are way too kind. This movie was pretty awful, too many plotholes (seriously who was on which side in the end?), and just a poorly produced cashgrab. They'll probably make a 5th one though, because Johnny Depp will get 70 million and do it.

I thought it was great, but the missionary/mermaid subplot wasn't. And I could follow it from begin till the end mate, savvy?

...You're aware that Bloom and Knightley won't be in the film in any kind of role beyond a cameo, if at all?

I don't care.......the Pirates films are so bad that not even the absence of those two can make them half-decent.

It's just a pisspoor franchise.......

Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley aren't in this film; their storyline was resolved in the third film.

Johnny Depp is great as Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush is excellent as Captain Barbossa, but the film is completely stolen by Ian McShane and his Disneyfied Captain Al Swearingen (Blackbeard). The stunts were good; the mermaids were okay (their attack was a decent set piece) and the overall storyline made more sense than the last film. I loved it.

Excellent cast, wonderful stunts and a good storyline. This is rumored to be the first of a new trilogy and like with Curse of the Black Pearl just about everything seems to be wrapped up at the end of this one, which i liked. The movie isn't as good as the first trilogy combined or seperate, but its a good sequel with potential. I can definitely see the next two movies being something great. Was disappointed with the whole mermaid thing, but I found it to be incredibly predictable. The Depp/Cruz relationship was wonderfully done and they were fun and interesting to watch. Penelope plays a female character with a lot of smarts and attitude, but who also has her own flaws. Its fun to see her go up against the titan that it Captain Jack Sparrow!!! LOL, I'd say the movie was solid and would definitely reccomend it.

Loads of people where I am are saying it's not great, but I liked it. It's not as good as the first three maybe, but definitely still worth a watch. Also, I actually really enjoyed the missionary / mermaid subplot, and something interesting is clearly gonna happen with it in the next one; the mermaids will end up helping Jack in some way somehow.

Eh, this movie's a hit and miss for me. Yes, it's got its share of funny moments from Jack, but the film wasn't giving me the same epic feeling like the climax of the previous film, At World's End.

Also, the trailer LIED to me. I was implied to that Jack and his crew would battle a hoard of pirate zombies. And...

...we only get to see two, and they didn't do much in fighting, not to mention they're on crew Jack ends up working for.

Also, it felt kind of empty lacking Will and Elizabeth Turner. Then again, Bloom and Keira did say their characters were finished, so I was to expect that. Ah well, live on.

No, I didn't see this in 3D. It's just too expensive these days. (Plus, not everything needs 3D...maybe the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon will be worth it. I'm still kicking myself for having missed out on How To Train Your Dragon last year, the critics said the 3D parts for the flight sequences were amazing!)

Made of Awesome if you ask me. Than again, making things awesome is Jack Sparrow's usual thing.

I've seen it recently and I really enjoy it. Some scenes reminded me of the first movie and and like the first one everything is resolved at the end.

Also, the scene, when Syrena turn into a human and trying to walk, made think a bit of The Little Mermaid.

I just saw it yesterday and loved it. The story was interesting, the scenes captive and dinamic, and the cast did an excellent job. I loved the complexity of the story and how the movie was still original, despite being the fourth installment in the series.

Are any of the "main" characters even in this film? I know Keira Knightley isnt in it, or Orlando Bloom, god knows who else is missing, whats the point in making more? I can see this film frachise going the way of Pokemon or Land Before Time.

Pokémon is still awesome, or is it not? Then why are you on a Pokemanz forum? Just asking.
