ANA Pikachu Short 04: "The Pikachu Exploration Club"

So this actually came out DVD on Friday in Japan, but it looks like nobody remembered to post a review thread for it Anyway, this special apparently deals with the DP team having wacky adventures near a river. The DVD also includes the episode "Beadull Knew It!" (DP 057).

Real cute special, especially Croagunk's scenes.

The Regis fucking around was kinda odd though. Guess those guys don't have much to do, eh?

I wanted to strangle that narrator. We didn't need one telling us every little thing the Pokemon were saying in the movie shorts, why do they think kids need that now? I also thought TR was put to sleep one too many times. Is it so much to ask that they get one meal? We know Manene hasn't had anything lately.

Sabonea being in it was the highlight for me. Granted it didn't really do anything, but I thought Manene riding on it was cute.

The short was kind of cute overall, but not really all that exciting. Hopefully the next one will be more interesting.

I like they do that. It really gives us an inside look into the Pokemon.

I think it's more fun to watch them and try to figure out what they mean. It just doesn't quite feel like Pokemon when everything is translated.

But luckily there's an option to turn him off so we can both watch it the way we want.

Is this the first time there's been a narrator, or have previous shorts had one as well?

I can't found anything "special" about Croagunk's scenes. With only exception for that scene with ANA Pokémon flight. The other scenes with Croagunk were pretty boring. Fortunately, the short as a whole were really amusing, especially TR Pokémon's attempts to get some food.

Yes, I found that strange. And I am dissapointed that Regigigas were not there. Yes, I know I shouldn't expect legendary's debut in ANA short, but still...

All ANA specials have narrator in the same way.

I found Croagunk's scenes to be funny. The part where it randomly wound up in a desert actually made me laugh for some reason.

Man, the narrator's voice for Turtwig sure is deep.

So, Jigglypuff was reincarnated as a Marill? o.o Its appearances were so unbelievably repetitive. I wanted to give it a good kick.

Whoa, another flashback. This time to Pikachu's Vacation. I speak, of course, of the "pulling the rope" thing.

Cute as the ANA shorts always are. Too bad there's no sign of it being dubbed like the last one was.

Just saw it on youtube. I wasn't even looking for it! It was cute, but some of the pokemon acted out of character. I agree about it being repetitive. How come some pokemon get to go on these adventures, but others don't?
