Platinum expansion Rising Rivals to be released May 20: Set to have 114 cards, Rotom forms

Go-Pokemon.com recently announced a new Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion: Platinum - Rising Rivals. This set is to have 111 cards, plus 3 reprint cards, to have a total of 114 cards in this set. This set will be released May 20, 2009.

"Rising Rivals"? Weird. Nowadays the set names have an air of mystique or sophistication to them (or are named after a game), but that's more basic than you would expect. Wonder if they're trying out something different; the names were all starting to run together, anyway.

Better name than Gym Whatevers!

Since this technically is the first Gym Leader based set since Gym Challenge to see a US release.

One would think that'd be a name best saved for the NEXT set, since it's the one that sets up Cyrus and Cynthia as, like, fated rivals or something.
