Ladies, Gentlemen, Pokemon and techo/organics alike…
I, as any and all Pokemon fans anywhere who know about this, congratulate everyone on the release of Pokemon Platinum Version this Sunday March 22nd 2009!
At this very moment, millions of game cartridges are being shipped all across the United States to a store near you being readied for a spine-busting and mind-blowing event in the universe of video gaming which only happens once every two years!
Move over hardcore titles like Metal Gear Solid 4 ,Grand Theft Auto, Warcraft or even soft core gigantic titles like Mario Kart, Wii Play and Super Smash Bros…
Pokemon Platinum is gonna ROCK the video game industry TO ITS VERY CORE!!!
However folks, after its all said and done…we will only have our memories of what happened, the remaining bits of the game we have played and a few shoddy articles on the net about how some game critic hated the game we cherish so much.
Its like what happened after Pokemon Emerald in 2005… according to wikipedia, the game was the SECOND HIGHEST selling game in the U.S.A that year.
Despite having such an awesome record, and the Herculean efforts of our sites to promote and showcase it, no one in the gaming industry shows any love for it. By the end of the year no gaming magazine of gaming show will want to even mention anything about Platinum (which probably might even beat every game out there in sales).
Trust me all those video game shows that you watch (especially X-Play and the G4 crowd), and all those game magazines you will read (Edge, Electronic Gaming Monthly, GamePro, Game Informer, Nintendo Power, Official PlayStation Magazine, Official Xbox Magazine, Play [US and UK], PSM3, PC Gamer, etc.) after their initial featured prints will do the same again and at the end of this year won’t give a hoot at how awesome this game is let alone a proper line or two.
Then comes the fact that this is only happening in the United States and it will be months before fans in other countries will even get to see the game on their store shelves. And in certain countries even YEARS (In South Asia, where I’m at, will expect just a few pirated copies to appear in the hands of unscrupulous dealers with overpriced costs by the middle of 2020!)
As pokemon fans we all are feeling it but those with Poke-phobia in the gaming industry and those still in the waiting list need some powerplay/help from all the good folk in America! (I plead with all the magnanimous moderators of Bulbagrden to check how far this thread can go…)
Here’s how to do just that and do it so that you all will be rewarded:-
This thread can be made into a place where anyone connected to Platinum-mania in anyway can post images, photos and scans of anything they get to see hear and do when Pokemon Platinum comes out!
SO THIS IS WHAT WE WANT!!!:-
We want to see anyone who goes to Rockerfeller Center on the 21st of March in NYC and gets a snapshot (via camera, mobile phone etc.) of the moment they are buying the game. Sheesh we could actually see the very first person to buy Pokemon Platinum in America! We want to see how long those lines are on Sunday March 22 when the stores open at 9 am to sell it! We want you YES YOU! To hold up your very own Platinum version whenever and wherever you actually buy it (You can use MS paint to put a censor over your face for confidentiality in your images – all you have to do is post the image and where and when it was taken). That’s ALL!
The pictures don’t have to end at NYC’s opening day, post photos of wherever you buy Platinum. We want to see folks on both East and West coasts, The Mid west, The Deep South and the North East and Puerto Rico + Hawaii to show their stuff!
This thread will be on for quite some time so when it finally happens our Australian and European fans can join in the post! How was it like to buy Pokemon Platinum in London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Madrid or Sydney? We want to know!
What about the rest of the planet: N. America, S. America, Asia and Africa: We want to hear and see from you too!!!
Why end it there when you can actually show us the progress you are making in the game! Let the world know that you were the first person to enter the Distortion world, Beat the Elite 4 or conquer the Battle Frontier in America! BE THE VERY FIRST TO PROVE IT!
Why stop there, half the fun is in the surrounding fun of the events. Post a picture of those playing the game, merchandise being sold, a magazine or newspaper article a flyer, just anything that is POKEMON!!!!
How do we prove the rest of the gaming industry wrong? Simple:
Buy your favorite gaming magazine and scan the pages and post them right here for all to see. There will be reviews, full 10 page to 15 page guides, walkthroughs, tips and tricks and much more coming out this April and further down the road, scan em all and get them posted here!
Watch your favorite Video Game TV show can record it!. Post it up on any video sharing site and SEND US THE LINK. Your number of views will probably increase TENFOLD!

Seen anyone playing the game, holding the toys or any kind of merchandise?
