If you're referring to his posts on your animal thread then you should be banned as well for the same reason.

Proper way to handle situations like this:
1. Do not respond to their posts. Report the posts instead.
2. PM a mod of the section or smod/admin and ask for their help.
3. Don't 'stoop to their level'. Complaining about something then doing it yourself is hypocritical.
