I'm sure someone mentioned this before, but does anyone think it's odd that Dr Yung knew of Mewtwo? I mean, the end of Mewtwo Returns implies that everyone except Ash&co and JJ&M has had their memories erased of Mewtwo. And yet, this guy seems to act like Mewtwo is a pretty commonly known Pokemon ("This isn't the Mewtwo you're used to" or something to that effect.)
The natural theory is that Mewtwo popped up off-camera while Pikachu's memory was being examined; but this explanation has one flaw. See, if Mewtwo showed up, how would he know what a Mewtwo was? The name alone is hard to pull a reasonable explanation for. And how would he know that Mewtwo would be some kind of all-powerful Pokemon worthy of miraging, as opposed to something like Celebi or another Mew?
So the question becomes, if Yung knows of Mewtwo, then obviously the real Mewtwo's secret is a bit screwed - and wouldn't that mean that erasing Giovanni's memory of Mewtwo is a bit pointless? Even if Mewtwo is a well-kept secret of the scientific community, I still feel like the boss of Team Rocket would have ways of figuring it out.
So, is it just a gaping plot hole, or is it something else?
