PMs vs posts

Hello, today I found a hilarious problem, but first some background:

I joined the forum in January, made 2 posts and went play pokemon. 3 days ago I came again to trade some pokemon, the posts I made back them needed moderation (still do...) so I went ahead and PM the people I wanted to trade with. In these days I've been trading and posting unmoderated posts without problems as they weren't urgent.

Now, here's the problem, today I tried to send a PM to trade, but "Sorry komedy27u you must have 10 posts in order to send PM's. Your current post count is 2.", I said "Ok, lets post in the threat"... the post from3 days ago still aren't there... "Ok, lets write a message in the profile"... "To be able to post Visitor messages your post count must be 5 or greater. You currently have 2 posts."... "Ok, lets look for help" and went to a threat of someon with a similar problem (unmoderated posts), were it was suggested that I send a message to a moderator, which is good given that "Note: Until your post count is 10 you will be able to send PMs to Staff only.".


And this is the hilarious part, I can't send PMs to moderator, can't post to fix the PM problem, can't PM to fix the post problem, the "Contact Us" message I wrote 2 days ago isn't answered yet. I'm on a legal limbo were nothing can be done and... I was in the middle of a trade xD


Can I press the panic button now?

Edit: Problem solved, today my post were approved and now I can send PMs, I'd like to leave this thread open as a "Suggestion" because I believe the system of the forum will repeat this at some point with another new user. I managged to send PMs with Tapatalk application, the post limitation only was effective in the computer...

The PM issue specifically was caused by us having to change from one PM enhancement addon to another as part of a routine security upgrade. While there are meant to be limitations on sending PM's and Visitor Messages for newly registered users (as part of preventing spambots, since we've seen ones which register and try to send spam PM's to everyone without trying to reply to threads or post their own), you should still be able to contact staff members via PM's.

The post approval thing is a known ongoing bug that we're working on fixing, though it's something which primarily impacts newly registered users.

Glad your problem was fixed, ive had a similar problem lately. someone pmed me and I cant pm them back because I don't have 10 posts. ive surfed the fourms and made a few posts here and there but none are showing up. im just very confused but hopefully ill find a solution soon aswell!
