With the finale of Mega Voltage that aired today. we got a preview of the next arc: Rising Again.

Liko and the others are heading to Blueberry Academy!

Cracking to see Blueberry's gonna be getting the anime treatment and nice to see Ann also there in the trailer too. Training is definitely what the crew needs after the recent battle so this should be fun.
 
not sure how i feel about this announcement. i felt hesitant on terastal debut back when that was announced too because i’m not really a training arc guy and i wanted horizons to stay true to what made it special, so i didn’t want the ongoing plot to get shafted for a typical pokemon league story. thankfully terastal debut was nothing like that and it managed to be a training arc while also having some of the best character writing in the series… and some of the best battles. man i miss the animation from around that time. anyway, i wish they had utilized sango and onyx more, but that’s water under the bridge now.

i have no such worries about rising again really funny choice for a chapter subtitle i’m not going to lie because we’ve already done a school training arc once and i enjoyed it but at the same time… i almost feel like this is strangely timed? i don’t know, i guess i feel like things are just ramping up with the plot and i’d like to stay focused on it a little longer, though i guess the incoming roy and ult focused specials might give me what i’m looking for before the next chapter. it’s too bad that the RVT adults only just got back together and now they’re taking a backseat again though… i can only hope that i am pleasantly surprised like i was with terastal debut and that there’s some great characterization and some hopefully fun battles, with some plot sprinkled in to keep me going.

as someone who loves scarlet and violet as games, i actually don’t feel strongly about seeing game characters in the anime and don’t like it when game characters are included just for the sake of being seen 2D animated with little to no benefit to the episode or the anime’s story. that being said, it’ll be interesting to see what they do with the BB league e4. i am also interested to see if they bring carmine back at all because she did practically nothing during her last appearance even though she was on all the marketing material lol

Ann was there? That’s nice, since she had mentioned Blueberry Academy, so that means they are following up on that. I’m exited to see the BB elite four and more pokemon battles.

I'm cautiously optimistic regarding this arc because it's likely we'll see Kieran and Carmine and their presence might be a breath of fresh air from HZ's sudden turn into... mediocrity, I guess? I've been continually let down by Mega Voltage, so I hope it's just the timeskip's growing pains and that this arc will return us to the stellar writing of pre-timeskip Horizons.

Also, lmao. Of course HZ111 had absolutely no evolutions. God forbid Mega Voltage do anything.
 
Well then...so much for Kalos arc to promote Z-A...@_@

Though at least it's fitting given Terapagos' ties to BLueberry Academy.

Though I have to wonder if they'll be there the entire arc, or for a certain amount of time. Even Terasteral Debut had the kids traveling around Paldea without just being stuck at Orange Academy...:unsure:

Also, have to wonder if/how the Explorers could but in like they in Terastal Debut.
 
I wonder who the Decidueye and Kantonian Tauros in the teaser belong to (Nemona and Larry?). Archaludon and Plusle + Minun are obviously Drayton and Lacey's, and the Samurott could either be Ann's or Cyrano's (but my money is on the former). It almost looks as if there's some tournament going on.

honestly yeah, it's kind of odd. i wonder if they're going to be treating the upcoming specials as the Z-A promotion instead and just sort of leave it there. or like you said, maybe they'll only be there for a certain amount of time. guess we'll just have to see!

Saw someone give the theory that the Decidueye could be Nemona’s since she had one at Blueberry Academy in the games. And maybe the Tauros belongs to Ann considering the writers like to keep her development in-line with Liko’s and we haven’t seen her third Pokemon yet.
 
So this is omega hype.

But I have two major questions:
Will Kieran show up in any capacity?
Will every Battle (or at least a majority) be a Double Battle.

I'm gonna hope at least the latter happens because, say it with me, "secondary mons". Since both Roy and Liko have four Pokemon each (and don't even hit me with the "Cap doesn't belong to Roy"), that makes plenty Double Battles an actually high possiblity. I doubt Hattrem will show up as much since Meowscarada and Charcadet will more than likely be Liko's battling duo for the most part. She might evolve though, it's now or never for that at this point.
 
I think all of the battles will be double battles. I think Kieran might get the same treatment as Arven because I don’t see him being relevant to the story unless they decide to make a tourney where he battles and fills up a slot.
