OMG!

They finally revealed some Diamond and Pearl information!

*jumps up and and down excitedly*

And the best part is that the games will be coming out this year (Autumn) in Japan.

Yay!!!! :-D

*throws confetti everywhere*

And also, I LOVE the way the new female character looks. <3

Of course, it's a given that we'd have to do something like beat the Elite Four before being able to battle/trade to all regions.

But, anyway, I'm happy to find out that Pokemon Pearl and Diamond will definitely be compatible between R/S/E and FR/LG. That is so awesome!! :)

Hopefully, in the U.S., the games will be released this Winter (last quarter) of 2006. Or, at least by early 2007. ^^

If they're coming out during Fall in Japan... I doubt we'll get a release in the US til mid-2007.

This might not be likely, but has a simultaneous translation of a game ever happened? For instance, much of the translation work would be translating specie, item, etc. names--could that not happen simulatenously?

Like, a global launch would be really nice. :p

Somewhat disappointed that the battles are still static, though...

oi liam, when u get to japan, do u mind preorder the game for me at pokecenter plzzzz???? lol... i cant wait for this game its too good.

"A game"? Yes. Games have had simultaneous or near-simultaneous launches before.

Pokemon games? Never.

I'm not sure if we have a enough evidence to proove this yet. It sure does appear this way, but I'm not sure on that.

I do agree that, that was my only disappointment so far. I am really, and I mean really impressed by the overworld graphics, they managed to make it look like sprites when its in 3D. I just hope we can also zoom in on our character... actually it also would be nice if we could customize our clothing (Those two look fasion-knowledgeable so maybe its still possible...) because of the online battling they are including.

I was mainly just wanting the battles to be upgraded at the same level of increase as the past. More stats, maybe even accessible stats like being able to improove accuracy or evasion. However, I was hoping to take the game more into what RS and the TV-Anime was changing into-> environmental variables to be integrated into battles..

I still wonder though, if the battle engine is deeper than before (like all games are)

...however... I really want randomized weather! Rain, Snow, Heat, and Wind!

If we are to believe WPM's source then translation is already underway so there might still be a chance of a near-simultaneous release.

I sure hope so! Or at least like a 3 month wait between each like XD was, I mean we have to wait like a year to get Dungeon!

MD is about 4 months away, and relative to when the Japanese got it, that will be 10 months, so it's almost a year. These games take on average 7 months to translate according to my calculations. On that number, Ranger should be ready by October, which would only be one month from MD. If not, then they will probably wait for November, but I would expect no later than that. Coincidentally, this is also the time frame in which the Japanese will get D/P. Ru/Sa was translated in the frame of 4 months. It would take that same effort and a JP release as early as September to have it even be possible for D/P to release this year for America. I don't know if I want to believe the delay was so that they could have a global release. As much as I want the possible trading across the globe to be fair, let's face it, it was never fair to begin with. I know people that can beat pokemon in one day, regardless of if it's new or not. It took me a week to beat Ruby and FR.
