Pokédex 3D coming to 3DS's eShop

We now know the reasons behind the Android removals.

One of the first apps available at the eShop launch will let users view more than 150 Pokémon in 3D.
Pokédex 3D, featuring all of the new Pokémon from the recent Pokémon Black and White games, will allow users to look up information about more than 150 Pokémon and their moves, all for free. It will make use of SpotPass and Augmented Reality.
Players start with 16 Pokémon and can unlock the remaining Pokédex entries by scanning QR Codes, using SpotPass (up to three random Pokémon a day), or by trading data with friends, likely via StreetPass.
Users will be able to view each Pokémon in 3D, and rotate them a full 360 degrees. The Pokédex features filters and bookmarking capabilities as well.
The app will use the 3DS’ built-in Augmented Reality capabilities to display Pokémon in pictures taken via the 3DS Camera.

I like the idea a lot, But the designs for the Pokemon look like the could have been done on the N64, I know its free but talk about low quality, Official Sugimori art would have been a better choice in my opinion.

Interesting, though the descriptions indicate that it will be limited to promoting the Unova Pokémon, which is disappointing, and it will inevitably contain less useful information than the fan-made Pokédexes. It's a nice sentiment, but it doesn't work for those of us fans that aren't in the primary target audience.
 
holy crap thats cool... too bad i dont have a 3DS, and it got pulled, and i probally wouldnt be able to aford it
 
nice,nut aren't there a thread talking about this in the annoucements forums?Anyways I so want it gets expansion to oher gens.
 
This is really nifty and cool. Also explains why the other pokedex apps were pulled from the market, lol.
 
I personally hope that all Pokemon will be available and not just the Unova natives.

Also calling it, the 3d models used in this app will be used for the next stadium-ish game on Wii/Project cafe knowing previous installments.
