This was originally going to be part of a longer post on reddit that was rejected. I mean, based on replies to an older thread on that site I made with a similar topic, I can see what they were going for. They were trying to establish how much of a threat the antagonists were and how we are supposed to see them, and they wanted to provide some kind of impact. But personally, I really think it was all potrayed in an uncomfortable way that makes me think of all the unspeakable, heinous acts being inflicted onto women in real life right now.

If there was any way to fix that scene so I won't think of that, I think they should have just made the female character tell N off of his thinking, try to fight back using the battle skills learnt from watching other battles, and then she does not try to escape the ferris wheel cabin, and instead runs off very far away once the ride ends. The following scene could be either her reporting what happened to other trainers in detail, or just sitting alone depressed while the other main characters try and question this. This at least still keeps the tension of setting up the bad guys, while not making me think of misogyny.

Now, as for that pig, we could make it that she forgets about it after getting waya to leave it behind with N or it simply chooses N once the ride lands.

I know this is all my problem for looking too much into a scene, and I acknowledge that it's just really bad of me for being the only one taking it too seriously. But none of the old arcs made me feel this way at all when looking back at any 'dark' scene in them. But there were a lot that did in the BW1 arc onwards that while I did not mind when I was teenaged, I cringe looking back at it as an adult. I really do not know what's worse between that scene and the gym leaders on crosses scene. And it's just so jarring because the BW1 arc seemed to have a much more lighthearted start, too. With most of the older arcs on the darker side, I wouldn't have minded something like that for the whole run.

So yeah, I generally feel really bad for taking this scene too seriously, and I’m not sure if my suggestion would be the best way out, but I’m okay with characters being out of character just to prevent people thinking the wrong idea.

This couldn't have worked because White was not skilled enough as a battler to fight N off successfully. She would have been overpowered regardless
